I never heard of this story or I forgot about it as I grew older. The injured football player was the same age as my oldest brother.

His Mom is a true hero in my book.

This is long but very much worth the read when you have time and are not familiar with the story.

Unless I missed it, hopefully someone will produce a movie about this story one day.
