A question from a newbie

Ok, first off, I'll plainly state it; "I'm not a computer geek." I can screw up a steel anvil with a rubber hammer,,,, and my wonderful better half says I'm dangerous with a computer & should not have a smart phone.

That said, I have a question for how to navigate this forum.

If I want to send a private message,, where the heck do I go to do that? I do not see anywhere a place that has a "PM icon" or such. I saw the "start a conversation" thing,, but I also was afraid to try it,, as I though it was like a live chat room thing,, (which I've never done,) or something similar.
So, how do I go about it?

On my phone I have to click on the persons name in the top right corner and then a block pops up with several options, it is in that block.

Click on person's screen name and several blocks pop up. One says start conversation. Click on that and start typing. When finished click on blue square that says send

He already found the convo option...

His concern (as I read it) is he was looking for something labeled PM, and wasn’t sure what the Convo feature was.
