I joined here 2-1/2 years ago and have just lurked all that time. I lived in Virginia for 7 years after spending the majority of my life in NC since I was a kid.
Anyway, I'm thrilled to be back in the Great State now (Elizabeth City area) because Virginia is royally screwed up on so many levels it would give me anxiety to try to explain! š¤£
For decades, I defended 9mm (in the right loads) as a perfectly viable defense caliber.
Now I find myself defending anything OTHER than 9mm as perfectly viable defense calibers.
I am a product of the 1990s, so I have primarily owned .40, .45, and .357 pistols. I had a general disdain for 9mm.
Sadly, as both age and ailments increase, I now find that 9mm is the only caliber I really enjoy shooting because the others are painful.

+p ammunition

Things I hate:
Sig leg shooter series
HK LEM trigger
Red dot optics (astigmatism sucks)
Kydex
S&W "value series" pistols
Sand
Projectiles traveling much under 1200 fps
The subsequent Baywatch theme song (some people stand in the darkness)
