Plenty of doom and gloom to go around right now, so I wanted to share a positive observation I have made over the past few weeks.

My work routinely takes me into neighborhoods in Charlotte. And, at least in the nicer ones, I have seen large amounts of people jogging, families having cookouts, parents teaching their children about the beauty of nature while outside, kids straight up playing in yards and in the street, folks playing with their dogs, and lots of workers lounging on the porch with their laptop, working from home.

This is how life should be. Not some mad dash of assholes all crammed into 3 lanes trying their best to jock each other so they can get to a workplace they don't need to be at and don't want to go to. Kids at home, learning from the people that care about and love them most. Folks getting out and seeing their neighborhoods and communities.

My sincere wish is that as this crisis fades in the rear view, the employers and workforce of this nation realize that the cubicle lifestyle, dumbass meetings, and keeping kids at school all day is simply not healthy nor a necessity in our current society. People should be home, with their family, with their loved ones more often.

Dude. That was just... beautiful.

Just for the record: You won't be compensated for that post. But seriously dude...……...that is awesome. You missed your calling.

Fag.

I watched this today.

The president of the regional technical college lives across the street from me. He and his wife (killer legs, btw) were outside working on projects. Their grandson was throwing a ball on the roof and catching when it rolled off. After about 30 minutes or so, there were five kids in that yard, their bicycles lying in the ditch.

I watched them and felt like, you know what, as soon as one of them step in my yard, I'm going off on someone. Keep that crap over there, ya bastids!

Well said, mister.

Absolutely the best post of the day! And at the same time “you know how I know your gay?”

I blame the Midori.

In an effort to help further socially distance myself, I decided to drink all the crap remnant liquor in this household. Once the Midori hit my lips, I started thinking about buying a Coldplay album, driving a Silverado, shouting "Roll Tide" and playing golf. This post and the love for other men that bloomed in my heart were the least gay results.

I saw 4 different sets of neighbors outside at once today. Weird times, indeed.
This weekend i met some people ive lived 4 doors down from for 14 years. Never saw them before.

No joke. I keep seeing folks in the subdivision near me out walking. This a big deal out here, where the only people you see walking are drug addicts that just got kicked out of a car and drug addicts that just got kicked out of a house.

We've had some awesome weather, lots of folks outside.
I agree, saw more kids out than usual. Cool in my book

Whats pathetic is the ones that are out, aren't used to social interactions anymore and don't know what to do when I say Hi ! I tell ya, I'm amazed by the ones that think you can catch something by saying hello. We've been walking every day a few miles and its just painful to see the 25 to 40 year olds out who cant at least squeak out a "hey" or a weak wave as they pass in the other direction.

F’in LOL!

I've seen kids in my neighborhood I never even knew lived in here, and I've been here 10 years, lol. They've been playing with my neighbors kids from across the street, so they are all new to each other. I hung out with six other neighbors last night outside under a big porch and drank a couple beer's just telling lies and bs'ing. I'm pretty close with most of my neighbors on my road, and for us, it's been business as usual.

Look how fast everyone forgot 9-11..... I hope you're right but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I can't "like" this post, but I agree with it. The togetherness after 9/11 didn't last long, and that was with a clearly defined enemy. A virus can't be defined as an enemy because we can't bomb the crap out of it.

The love, peace, and harmony is going to fade fast and we'll be right back to our divided nation within three weeks after the virus news quiets down.

Funny, last night two of my coworkers texted in our group chat how it seemed like the 50s again.
Yeah, we had some great weather the past two days, but people were OUTSIDE. Grilling, playing, hanging out.
It is nice and hopefully folks will realize how much fun it can be to just relax at their homes.

But this time the 'enemy' doesnt care your religion, nationality etc
That said, there are times when people have been extremely generous and gracious, but then other times in this mess it seems civilization is collapsing and people are freaking out. It's odd times, for sure.

Walked the monster critter around the hood a couple times this week. Damn shame. Only saw a couple guys out farting around in their yards. I talked to one who said the neighbors were scared to come out. I said what the eff is wrong with them? He said they're scared the catch the bug. I told him that we are all dead if it gets to the point when somebody is scared of the over-pollenated fresh air. I guess I'll go start knocking on doors and try to unass them from their damn couches. Or, just stick with my SOP of generally not liking people. It's like the Sarge told Red 'ya gotta die sometime'.

Yeah, that's just great. Everybody just work from home from now on. Then watch the economy crash as the commercial real estate market tanks. Nobody will want to buy commercial buildings because all their folks are also working from home.

Wish the plant sperm wasn’t so thick in the air. I often wear a mask when out in the yard this time of year, but don’t want to freak the neighbors.

Yeah, because that is obviously what I meant, especially as somebody that builds commercial and residential buildings.

But you're right, if your job is something like data entry, you should be planted in the middle of a cube farm full of distractions all day so you can pay a stranger to raise your children.

That's not at all his point.

Most everyone now a days seems to be running 100mph go go go. Family's don't spend time together, don't know how to communicate, the family unit seems to have fallen apart in general and the school system raises most kids. Kids don't play outside, neighbors don't talk, everyone is so caught up in the rat race there's no time to live.

Lol, that's me man. I wear one most of the time Im out, especially doing yard work. I hung out with a couple neighbors last night, and had a mask on the whole time.
