If they would actually let people on here communicate then there would be more activity on this site. Which would be contributing to the site. it’s frustrating when I see something on here and cannot even send a message to the person that has something I’m interested in. Not really sure why they make it so difficult just to communicate with someone that has something for sale.

So…

You’ve been here 18 months and made 7 total posts. Seems to be an obvious way for there to be more activity.

(averaging more than .3888888888 posts a month, in case that wasn’t clear)

Sending PMs isn’t “activity” that anybody would notice on this site.

We would respond to your post with an honest reply but we've recently been put on restriction.
 
So what do I have to do. Post things on here to sale. Just to be able to talk to someone. That’s crazy.
 
Sir, if I may say so, you seem wound a bit tight. There are rules, there aren't many. This place has been here a while and you have to think that the powers-that-be made those rules for a reason. Belly-aching about it won't change it. Join the community, get to know some people, then think about buying/selling. Otherwise new people come here just to buy/sell and it can ruin much.

We recently had folks have their accounts hacked, and they lost money. The very short post restriction is to make sure people aren’t scammers. You’re almost there. Surely you can understand that. Surely to god
 
Pretty sure you asked this a few months ago. And you're correct, it should be simple. Simple like join in a thread/conversation and don't think of CFF as an Armslist alternative.

I have tried to message a couple members directly and I get an error message that I am not permitted to do that. Is this because my account is fairly new? Thanks!

Review the many subforums, we are more then a firearms forum. Ask questions about ammo, optics, motorcycles, HVAC or car/truck stuff.

You have to understand that this is a forum first, that happens to have a classified section.

Not the other way around.

Why would anyone want to talk about someone they don’t know about like how much certain pipes might scrape on their piggie while icing US 129 next month. Some people spent bent big bucks on their piggie.
 
It's not Friday yet. Which is a good thing because I am low on popcorn.

i think we need to bump up the requirements for BST, not post what they are, and see who wants to be a member of the forum vs finding a free place to buy sell trade.

BST should be a perk for members not the purpose of the site. other sites exist for that, if thats all you want - spend a dollar, and use them.
