Aimpoint Pro vs. Holosun 5-series

Holosun 510C or 515CM is what you're after. I have plenty in stock. The only thing I'd consider is a side flip 3x magnifier for range use.

Aimpoint PRO is good but it is also a little bulky and doesnt come with the nice features you would want in a SHTF/HD gun like shake awake. 65 moa circle for fast targeting, solar backup, 50k hours of battery life, and most importantly the battery tray is on the side so you dont have to remove the optic to replace. (More so common on trijicon rmr than the aimpoint.)

I can’t comment on the Holosuns but I have run Aimpoints going back to 1999-2000 and they are rugged. I don’t remember the model number we were getting just as I retired from the military but they were stout.

I have had multiple PROs, H1s and T1s since. All rugged and dependable. I’m obviously not beating them around as much now but they have a great reputation for solid performance for a long time.

IMO you cannot go wrong with an Aimpoint purchase. Just my .02

The PRO is really nice, but as was mentioned it is bulky. They will dip down to $325 delivered very occasionally.

The twist to turn and dial in brightness is preferable to me over buttons.

Put brightness where you want and leave it there. Change the battery every other birthday. Also, it comes with a good mount.

and if you need i can probably give you a battery.
I used the one that came with mine for about 5 years, left on one of the medium settings. I was shocked at how short that constant on battery life was, so now i turn it off sometimes. These batteries i have will go bad before i need them.

I’m a little confused. You left it on for 5 years on medium, and that was a short lifespan? 😳

or was that woosh the sound of the joke going over my head?

Holosun’s are solid optics and I wouldn’t hesitate to put one on a HD rifle, but for that budget I would go with a Trijicon MRO and a good mount.

This. Don't neglect the mount.
