Airdales

I was air crew because I did enroute care, but never haze gray and underway. I did fly aboard the Eisenhower to teach some classes, flew aboard and off via COD, and spent all of my waking time on vulture's row, loved it. What a ballet of organization.

I was in VA 34 on the Ike from 1986-1992 as the Flight deck troubleshooter LPO/AT troubleshooter/final checker. So if you were there at that time you would have watched me from Vultures Row

I was aboard 2007 (I think. Maybe 2008). I had a great time, but then I knew I would have to be aboard for >6 months. I don't know how I'd feel about it if I had to be deployed at sea that long. Six month MEU floats are bad enough.

VA-34....A-6s, yeah?

An old buddy from college was a NFO in E2s, did three deployments, a deployment in each seat in the back. Have a good friend who was an A6 BN.

who was the a-6 BN as I may know him a-6s were a small community

Jim Lymin

He was west coast for most of his flying (Whidbey Island?) then RAG instructor. This would have been 90-95ish, RAG toward the end. When they started transitioning to F-18s and doing away with the A-6s he went to Fallon, then to Pentagon to NAVAIR, then got out.

92-95 I was a Framp instructor at VA 42 which was the east coast RAG I retired in 98
if you still have contact with him just mention a TC-4C or tick aircraft "With the acquisition of the TC-4C aircraft, VA-42 was able to provide more training on airborne radar operation for A-6A bombardier/navigators. The new aircraft was equipped with a complete A-6A cockpit console and weapon system, multiple bombardier/navigator stations, plus ECM equipment, and other radar operational capabilities."
