Can this SBA3 equipped pistol be converted to an SBR w/buttstock readily? As in DIY without power tools getting involved? I know nothing of AKs.

I do NOT have this in hand.

I know zero about AKs, so I’ll just ask. Although it’s a different adapter, I wonder if that one is similar to the one SB makes:

Doesn’t the SBA3 just mount to a standard AR buffer tube? So it might be as simple as removing that brace and replacing it with a stock?

Well…that would make sense.

After you do the paperwork just remove the brace and add the stock. Looks like that is plastic but just like a standard buffer tube.
There are better setup pending what you want.

Pretty much this...but I'd just spend the $30 on a fixed stock trunnion and call up @digitalpaladin10 .

If you chose to go the easier route I would likely replace that honking adapter. Better options out there.

To clarify, I built that pistol. It's a BoB build for a friend on here. All BoB builds take normal AK stamped receiver stocks, adapters or braces. Here's a higher res pic. The rear tang bolt goes under the cap on top of the adapter.:

So that’s not a standard AR buffer tube underneath? I’m not seeing an SBA3 on SBT’s site under AK…so I was assuming it’s their standard SBA3 on an AR tube?

While there may be a better option, is the short term/immediate solution to pull the SBA3 and install an AR stock doable?

Had not had hands on that gun but guns like it. Yes from what I see.
Just pull the brace add a stock was what I seen on other that looked that way.
There is no metal tube it is all plastic like the Smith 15-22 pistol.
