AK Pistol...

Among AK guys you'll find a lot of love for Dracos. Keyword Romanian built Dracos. The Yugo/Serbian M92 is another fine, well built option, though furniture options are not compatible with the standard combloc fare and the sights are a bit different. Besides the (pricier) and less common Bulgarian Arsenal builds, those are the three 7.62×39 variations I'd recommend. I do really love my M92 though - both of them :D

The draco can't use standard AK furniture either can it?

The full size Draco is compatible with any standard AKM handguards, I believe. Obviously the micro is a different story...

My M92 shoots pretty good, has a smooth if heavy trigger. Seems pretty well built in general.

Love the shorty AK. Everyone that shoots mine smiles. Everyone that sees it proclaims something holy. Rapid fire beach ball sized noon sun bright fireballs. Merica!

And speaking of braces, I'm excited for PSA's new 9mm AKV to unveil. I hope they sell the brace separately. Kinda shocked, frankly, that the alphabet gang approved its Krinkov style triangle folder:

I put money down on an M92 last year. Then I built a 8.5" .300 Blk pistol, and subsequently didn't buy the M92. I have regrets about that.

Thanks. That's the way I was leaning. Draco, 392C2 (?), or the Arsenal. Was hoping that the Draco would be "good enough" so I wouldn't have to spend the coin on one of the others.

Draco > M92 > everything else I can think of is garbage (Hellpup, Century made "Draco", C39 pistol). Stay away from anything Century has made themselves. You want an imported Romanian pistol made by Cugir. Century's AK's are literal time bombs.

The WBP pistol might be a contender, but the jury's still out.

I wont include Arsenal's pistols because they are horribly over priced. The Draco is every bit as good, if not as pretty.

I'll chime in with some peronal experience, if I may. Get some good ear protection. Those short barrels make for a loud bang! Regards

Get the Magnamatic if you're planning on owning or do own other AK's.

Get one of the others if not, with the understanding they are essentially disposable.

Or, if you want an optic....
Stormwerk and CNC Warrior also make a rail for the top cover, though I don't know how well they hold zero.

Or, there's the Master Mount no drill side rail that will allow you to use standard AK mounts.

I've attached a pic. The brace folds. I stuck a cheap red dot (like $30) .to see how it handled the recoil. Weather was crap so I only ran @1/2 a mag with it on and 1/2 without. The optic held up. Once I get the irons adjusted I'll revisit the dot. Also may change the brace. Don't love the old school one.

Bulgarian flash hider, or CNC Warrior/other American clone? Either way, those boosters help quite a bit on these pistols. If you swap out the brace let me know what you go with. I have the same brace on mine and agree it is quite chunky. Been looking at a few minimalist alternatives.

Not sure about the flash hider. Was on it when I got it. Is there a way to tell by looking at it?

If it's US-made there will likely be a "USA" stamp/engraving near the base indicating so. If the FSB indent is U-shaped instead of squared, I believe that is a CNC Warrior design. The AK-Builder device's indent is squared like the original Bulgarian design.
