When my father in law moved he left a bunch of stuff behind in my house. In the pile I find a water ionizer, and I know it wasn't cheap. Anybody use one of these and do you see any benefit? I'm not sure if I should use this or sell it. I think it has titanium and/or platnium plates in it so I would guess it's worth a couple hundred bucks at least. Googling the model number shows these thing selling for $500-$1000+ depending on condition. If somebody is going to drop that much coin on one of these is there any health benefit, or is this a fad/hype pseudoscience thing?

I was just researching alkaline water as well, and there doesn't seem to be much proven science either way on it. Lots of hype, psuedoscience and celebrity endorsement type thing, but nothing definitive I can find.
