My brother died yesterday. He just dropped dead on my moms kitchen floor. He was mentally impaired but not extreme. He was a pure soul. Sweet as any man who ever lived. He was 63 years old. The picture below is everything he owned on this Earth with the exception of some clothing. Everything. It's mostly knives. He did like knives. Cheap ones of course.

I never met your brother, but I have known others like him. I always felt that such people were born of the Spirit, unencumbered by the difficulties that most of us wrestle against daily. St John said, "A person can receive not even one thing unless it has been given to him from heaven." Your brother, God's child, is with him now. Rejoice.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

I made my sister take down a post she put on facebook because I don't like putting our business out there and this wasn't my intent here. I was just completely taken aback at how simole my brothers life really was. The junk drawer in my kitchen has twice this in it.

No harm intended and please don't be offended by this. But he took the same thing with him that the rest of us will when we leave. We are not defined by the things we possess.

Sometimes I wonder if we possess things or things possess us … is the simple life better than having to deal with a mountain of “things”?

Anyway, sorry for you loss … may his pure soul find a better place.

Sir Im very sorry for your loss, I feel fror you and your family.
Please let us know if you need anything. We might all squabble from time to time, but we're all tight in the end.
