I’m thinking about using 1075 for this 7.5” OAL knife. Blade ~3.5”. Elk antler as shown in the photo with wrought iron and micarta spacers.

It is a short blade with a a nice belly that can be used for skinning and others chores as needed.

Thank you! I drill out the rough opening for the tang and then use a small toolI I made to remove the pith until it fits up.

I made a couple on broaches to remove the pith. The one I use the most I made from a sawz all blade.

Slowly getting it assembled and attached to the tang. Here are some updated photos. Now I have do disassemble and glue it up and do the final fit and finish.
