Me. I wanted to get my 2M Kwood back on the air, it's been off since I moved everything into the house because waiting on coax and still have not decided on what antenna and if I am mounting on the house or on a mast out in the garden. So....I needed something simple to sit by the desk...

Ground plane stuck in a moonshine jug, can't get no more redneck country boy than that.
SWR is good and talked about 30 minutes to Ricky in Knightdale (he is a cancer patient and is on quite a bit).

Dats right boys, don't be jealous of this sweet honey of an antenna.

You, good sir, are a nearly constant source of inspiration and good humor 😀

As far as I'm concerned, that's what it's all about.
Watch out the flag doesn't screw up your SWR. ;)

It works surprisingly well to be sitting in the house. Howard has about talked me into a Diamond X510....
I don't take his antenna recommendations lightly since I built my HTPOCFD (Howard T Perry Offset Center Fed Dipole).....

If it is stupid and it works..... it ain't stupid.

Jury rigging is a handy skill to have.

As Thomas Jefferson once said " It's just 19 inches of wire, Alice!".

It actually now reminds me of a cheap Yagi project I did. It looked like this but mine was on PVC pipe and it worked fairly well. The original idea that intrigued me was based on scarcity of parts and supplies in some parts of the world. I'll probably do it again, now that I've figured out some of the quirks. Ultimately, I'll do it with a stick and pieces of romex.
This is the kind of thing I love... Improvised Antenna's or IAD's Improvised Antenna Device.;) [IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","src":"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTOkPtnwn41lBASz2At51CBJXVWuIG6iMSe2JOCs0zaT9p_AV1VIg"}[/IMG2]

I like the tape measure antennas too as a "in a pinch" thing.
