Another "Why does this exist?" Thread

Marketing 101

They created perceived value, assuming someone will pay for it.

And in this market, I expect it won’t be too hard.

Soooo ... Century's dog turd VSKA never took off quite like the company has hoped (never mind the infamous James Yeager/MAC fail vid). Their solution is to slap on a light mount, birdcage, and red pistol grip, throw a bit of cash at some poor, relatively-famous gun sucker, and then basically double the price.

Cool. I'm in for six

Everyone has a price. I just woulda hoped Clint's was a bit higher. #PlunderRanch

Hold on, the VSKA may not have sold like hotcakes but last I heard it got past the torture test on the AK operators channel just fine - which is not something many makes have managed.

Not saying that warrants this price just that I don't think it's a bad gun per se.

Maybe, but this is like making a King Ranch Kia Optima.

There was also the time that clown Yeager set up a torture test and the thing failed before 2k.
Was that the VSKA, though? I am asking because Century had several other models before this one that did indeed have issues.

I am quite surprised, usually Rob Ski and the AK operators channel are very harsh critics, surprised it made it past them. Thanks for sharing, I stopped looking once it got past them back in the day.

Well you know what they say about a broken clock...

And at the end of the day, a VSKA will probably be fine for the vast majority of us who simply don't make it to the range enough or run a ton of rounds through their guns (AK fanboy extraordinaire me included in that list). Probably ~95% of gun owners won't run 5,000 rounds through a single firearm in their lifetime. My issue with the VSKA isn't based solely on the fact it is a mediocre USA-made AK built with questionable materials; but more so that Century is a scumbag company with a notorious history of putting out crap guns, spewing crap about said guns, and using crap-for-brains gunsmiths and repair methods. They ran a full-press smear campaign against Rob, and they regularly enlist their legion of paid shills and trolls to hype their crap products. Add Clint to the long line of folks who can ignore Century's forest full of crap for the money growing on trees.

In the meantime, I'll repeat what I read somewhere else:
