I just moved my 1930 Model A and 1919 Model T Ford to NC.
They were titled, and insured By Haggerty in NH.
I plan to change the insurance to NC and get NC plates and titles.
Has anyone been thru this that can tell me what to do, watch out for, and how much it will cost?

In NC you don’t have to run a tag on it. You can get a tag and throw it under the seat and put a 1930 tag on it. I found one at the flea market and put it on my car.

Correct, but the tag under the seat must be up to date with current registration. Best to keep a printout of the NCGS as well, not all LEO know about running year model tags.

I managed to find a 1979 NC Citizens Band Radio vanity tag for the Jeep (back when FCC issued CB callsigns) . Rare as a hens tooth and was extremely lucky to find it, fits that truck perfectly! No pics, I have to find some anti tamper hardware to mount it with, don't want it getting stolen. Currently looking for an 86 tag for the K5 as well.

You will need the NC insurance policy and a North Carolina drivers license before you can register the vehicles here. Also, any vehicle 35 years old or older being titled for the first time in NC will have to have an antique inspection done by the DMV License and Theft Bureau. Basically, you can go to any tag agent and register the vehicle, and get plates that day, but the titles will not print and you must get the antique inspection done within the first year. They basically just come to your house, look at the vehicle for VIN swaps or alterations, run the VIN in NICB for stolen/theft hits and ensure the vehicle is actually what it purports to be. Some folks will title kit cars or VIN cloned cars as originals in other states, then try to bring them here and sell them as originals. If yours are legit and are not on the hot list, it will be no problem. Once the Bureau completes their inspection and does their report, your titles will automatically print and mail to you and you can renew the plates when they expire.

Also, you can run an original, period correct NC plate on the vehicle. However, the vehicle must be registered, the "real" plate must be kept in the vehicle anytime you are driving it and you are required by law to show the plate on demand to ANYONE (not just law enforcement) who asks to see the plate. But nobody really knows they have the right to ask, so you'll never get asked...
