Any alternative to the PA microdot I should know about?

To make a long story short, I need a sub $125 red dot to help me win a bet. It will be mounted on a POS frankenAR in 5.56. My go-to used to be the PA microdot. I like a smaller simple dot reticle.
I wouldn’t mind a slightly larger tube but it’s not an issue.

Any other options I should consider? I like the Romeo 7 on paper but I have no experience with it.

Okay. I asked because I had looked at this one myself

for much the same purpose as you cite.

Already had one of these

on a 0.83" riser for absolute cowitness with the BUIS
There’s one of those reflex Sightmark in the classifieds for cheap. I prefer a single dot reticle though.

I had forgotten about the TRS25/26. Thanks, another option.

I’m kicking myself for not getting the Sparc AR that was on sale a couple of weeks ago. Of course I didn’t know I needed it at that point…

+1 on the Romeo5. I’ve purchased the Romeo5, Holosun 403A, Vortex SparcAR, and Vortex Crossfire each around $100 (as low as 80 iirc), and of course the PA as low as $50 for a blem.

Having used all of these for years, I have minimal pros/cons within this group.

Was gonna vote the Sig MSR too. Nice optic, knob is stiff by design. Riton isn’t bad glass either, or the TRS25. Last the Crimson Trace that’s on sale regularly for $40 now would probably get it done.
