Thinking about getting one in Grey or OD green and want some opinions from anyone that has had or has one. Held one last week and love the way it feels
Thanks

Complicated answer...I'm an owner but don't have one.

Mine should arrive at my local FFL tomorrow. ;)

I do own and have the SK and LOVE it!!!

Former VP9 owner here...
They're accurate, feel good in the hand, smooth operating, and all around very good guns. Only reason I ended up selling is I was carrying a PPQ at the time and the VP9 didn't offer any clear advantages over the PPQ.
I enjoyed mine while I had it and if you snag one, I'll bet you enjoy yours, too.

CDNN has them for $500. Is that what you're looking at? I paid $459 delivered for the basic black version.

I don't have a VP9, but the P30 is excellent. Same frame, construction and ergonomics, but with a cocked and locked hammer! It's noticeably more accurate than my Glocks and is the most ergonomic gun I have ever held.

Went back to hold it again, the gun store wants $670 for it. I can Get it Online for $520 shipped
Now which color? OD green or Grey?

Save $60 and go with black. ;)

Agree about the ergos. With the 8 pc grip plates you can just about customize the grip to anyone's size hands, I guess if one hand is twice as big as the other, lol. The end of slide has 'ears' that help rack new rounds. Only draw back I've found is some grit in the trigger for new guns. The gurus suggest a simple polishing of the transfer bar.

I khave owned the P30L, P30SK and currently the VP9. I like the VP9 as a striker fired pistol. Very accurate, very reliable. I changed the sights to HD Trijicons for my old eyes. My one complaint is that they do not hold open on the last shot for me because of my thumb placement on the frame. This is very annoying, so unless you are religious about counting your shots it can be a bit frustrating. Otherwise I say jump on it. I have two and they both are shooters.

I think I have 5 plus an SK... it's the gun I seem to always gravitate back to. Have thousands of rounds through them and have never had an issue.

At the current prices you won't be disappointed! I wouldn't pay more than 450.00 used standard or 550.00 for one w night sights. You can pick them up for 400.00 or less if you're patient.

As stated previously PPQ is quite similar but I like the VP9 better overall (I actually like that the trigger is a bit heavier than the PPQ)

I have one and I love it!

Get black.

My wife lives her VP9. She has arthritis in her wrists. The wings and the relatively light recoil spring make it very easy to rack.
Muzzle control, even for my niece who weighs 110# was a breeze. It helps that she is a natural shooter.
I have the VP40. Shoots easier than any other 40 I have tried.
My soon loves both the VP9 and the VP40.

I saw the video from Hickok 45 on the VP40. He did not give it a very good review because of the muzzle flip. Of course he's married to his G23 as a disclaimer. I have the PPQ40 (similar design as the VP40), and controlling the muzzle flip is all in your grip technique.

You can do it online and you'll receive an email confirmation.

My wife really wants one, but she wants a reflex sight on it, so I'm waiting until the optic ready version comes out which should hopefully be late 2017 early 2018 from what I hear.

Why? Unless resale is a concern, having the slide milled for a specific optic is always better than gettting one of the generic, one cut fits all, optics ready models.

I've considered that, but I'm not thrilled by the idea of having my slide milled for one specific optic and appreciate having the option of switching it out if I don' like it or something much better comes along next season.
Also, if the sight suddenly affects the pistol's reliability, I can always send it back to H&K or sell it stock as a last resort.

Fair enough. Be warned though....optics on pistols are addicting and they have a tendency to multiply. I know mine did.

Got some family coming over this evening and will finally get a chance to shoot the VP9:)
Will update with my thoughts later

have fun!

Don't forget that the point of aim and point of impact are the same. ie your front sight should "cover" what you are aiming at. Otherwise you will tend to shoot a little low.

I'm actually looking forward to using a couple of the free magazines with my SK.

Loved the way they shoot. The only issue is my thumbs forward position caused the slide to not lock back.

Exactly the same for me. I still haven't found a grip that feels right AND allows me to properly control the gun (without riding the slide stop).

this and relatively poor size to capacity ratio are the only negatives in my opinion. I wish mecgar would make some 17-18 round flush mags'

I'm going to buy a couple sleeves to run the 15's in the SK.
