I remember interacting with a guy on the "other" site that worked at Flow VW in WS. Wondering if anybody who works there is still around.

My TDI needs a timing belt and water pump. I'm no stranger to wrenching on my cars, I did the timing belt on my old Jetta and my sisters whatever-the-hell-it-is. Figured I'd do this one too so I bought the parts and watched a few videos. šŸ˜³ Now I don't wanna do it.

Given the complexity and some of the special tools needed to hold all the pieces from moving (the primary reason I don't want to do it) I'd prefer to have someone who works on VW's do it.

Just looking for an inside connection so I'm not just some Joe off the street. (And someone who won't freak when they see the car has had all the emission controls removed)

I'd think about taking it to a Euro shop that does tuning. They probably don't care about emissions.
Also, I don't think emissions equipment matters on unplated off road racing cars. You have to bring it to them on a flatbed, but if the timing belt is toast your doing that anyway.

Everything Euro is pretty good
There's another place behind putt putt on Strattford.
My daughter's ('17 VW GTI) fiance (Audi A6, VW GTI) worked at Everything Euro until recently. He, along with many of the long-time staff has left and has gone to a shop in Kernersville called Trask Automotive https://traskautomotive.com/. Sounds like they're setting up a really good VW/Audi specialty shop. I haven't been there yet, though my son had some work on his Passat Wagen there a few weeks ago and it seemed to go well. My Atlas isn't due for service for a few months, but that's where I'll be headed when it is, assuming I don't decide to do it myself.
