Anybody dealt with the fuel solenoid on a B&S Intek V-twin 23HP engine?

This engine is a 445577-1187B1 in a Husqvarna YTH2348 lawn tractor. I believe the problem "might" a bad solenoid preventing fuel flow as it will run for moment when sprayed with starter fluid but soon dies. The fuel pump squirts gas when you crank the engine so that seems okay.
The mower is out at a friends in the woods so it's a bit of a hike to go work on it. I should have pulled the solenoid and brought it home with me when I was last there but of course didn't do so. Just curious if others have run into this and if it is a common point of failure.
TIA

Are you asking about the solenoid on the bottom of the carb bowl?

Unscrew the solenoid and cut the tit off it and keep rolling. Well after you screw it back on of course.

Its usually the solenoid or a relay that energizes a number of things. If you have 12v to the solenoid wires its the solenoid. Other wise its the contacts in the relay. Like both of us said take some electrian side cutters ans snip it at the stem.

So after pulling the entire intake manifold & carb off it to check out the float & jets it appears that the solenoid simply unscrews from the bottom of the carb right?

Update - the solenoid is fine but the carb was gunked up with a sort of gelatinous crud. Running it through the ultrasonic took care of that then new carb gaskets and it is in god shape. Drained all the fuel which is probably much older than I was led to believe then set up a temporary fuel tank and she fired right up.

Plan to drag it home tomorrow and begin rebuilding (welding) the broken deck brackets and give it a good cleaning.
