I'm looking for lighter weight and absolute mission dependant adaptability for a new chest rig and have narrowed it down to one, the Ferro Concepts Chesty Wide.

I don't like using different systems for work, home and then another for classes.

I've got several, ok more like 5 chest rigs and a decent plate carrier. I don't really like any of them. My current primary is a Helikon-tex trainer, I think. Really nice low profile kit that hold 4 mags, has an admin pouch and IFAK'ish dangler. No molle and it has 4 pistol mag pouches on it, both are deal breakers.

The Chesty, in addition to their panel pouch components looks to fix my needs. I can use my G-CODE tacos if I want, layer in danglers and admin panels and still have the flexibility to add radio and smoke pouches, etc.

Thoughts, inappropriate pictures and rude comments are greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the trex ready rig? I like it so much that I picked up two staged with different load outs. Fits and wears great. Has pouches for comms etc

as far as plate carriers you gotta check out shellback tactical. Local SC company and I have two of their carriers.

I actually just got a ferro concepts chesty mini and really like it so far. light and durable. I bought mine off of ebay (LIGHTLY used, like no wear at all used) and it came with a ferro 5.56 turnover 3 mag pocket. Today I have a kangaroo front flap coming in the mail. BUT, if I did it over again, I'd order the DOPE flap and build it out.

I was recently looking the Spiritus Systems Micro Fight Chassis Mk4 chest rig. You'll have to buy the straps, etc.

If you're having to wear a chest rig at home, perhaps its time to consider a new neighborhood?
😂 I don't wear it at home and don't live in a neighborhood. We are however ready to go should the need present itself. Having the appropriate gear and training, I would be the fool if we weren't at least considering the potential fantasy of threats.

I have not but will as soon as I'm done typing this. TY.

I've got a couple of decent carriers set up pretty well, ceramic, etc.. I have passed those on to my fighting aged, live at home snot nosed kids. I'm done with armor, at least for now. With that said, I really do like the Shellback stuff. @Chdamn , isn't your carrier a Shellback?

I have been to your house. If someone drives up you do not know or are not expecting, given how far out you are, it's definitely game on. No one would go there by accident.

Edited to add, I got your message, will reply shortly.

Also edited to add, I like Shellback OK. Good value, doesn't break the bank.

Mine is high speed gear. The weesatch

And not a single link or picture...

My Chesty, kangaroo flap and insert were just delivered. I like the construction, weight, material and concept but it's some seriously floppy crap, at least in the configuration I thought or hoped I could run it in.
I'll think about it over the weekend, probably going to take another stab at another couple of Ferro parts to change the order of the stack up.

Maybe pictures later,

Have you looked at the Haley Strategic D3CRM or D3CRX ?

Should I get another, it would be that, or the Beez Combat APTUM Micro X.

Prob can't go wrong with any of the higher quality stuff as long as it fits your needs. Obviously Ferro is well respected.

My youngest runs the Haley, I like it but the immovable pistol mag holders and the lack of molle are kind of a deal killer for me.

the haley rigs are awesome, but if you're gonna wear it for longer than a 30-minute LARP session, I HIGHLY reccomend the replacement H-Harness, as the X-Harness tends to ride in all the wrong ways after long durations.

Good to know. I just scored a deal on the D3CRX. I'll have to keep that in mind.
