So the car my daughter is driving has been assaulted by artillery fungus. It’s older and it all happened before I knew it was happening. Just noticed some on the Jeep and got it off before it could get established. Ordered a cover for the Jeep since it sits in the driveway all week. Does anyone have any suggestions to combat this evil? Anyone think a ceramic coating would help keep them from getting into the paint?

I feel your pain brother,I've been battling it for years, I’m surrounded by trees, I’ve tried different mulch close to where our vehicles are parked. I haven’t found anything to combat it. Seems like some years are worse than others. Its odd how sometimes it will wipe off pretty easy, but most of the time not. I’ve actually ordered some plastic razor blades to try and scrape without scratching the paint. interested to what others may have to offer up.

Well I’ve got a plan. I’ll have to i spect a few times a day and get any off that show up. I’ll take some pics. The cover when the cover arrives. Will attempt to make space in the garage this week. Also maybe buy some bags of cedar mulch to put over the current stuff. And will start investigating the ceramic coating plan. Although wife will not like that since it isn‘t cheap.

Fungicide.

Nope. From my interwebs research there is really nothing that will kill it. Bleach will temporarily help, but since it will seep into the ground it isn‘t super effective.

I’d bet good money DARPA or the DOD are studying this shit as a weapon against the Russkies.

It used to get on my Father-in-laws white truck. I thought it was fly shit.

Been doing 2 a day inspections and cleanings. Had a hand procedure today. Really hoping the cover shows up soon. This crsp is Satan spawn.

But my brother tells me they have army ants in Texas, they swarm and eat grass til it‘s dirt. Ok, I’d plant rocks.

Me too! Had it all over my white F-350 last week. I hadn’t driven it ( or washed it ) in a while and it took some doing to get it off! I ordered some ceramic coating to put on it. The Jeep was ceramic coated and I haven’t noticed any on it…yet. The wife’s Jeep is new so I’ll be coating it as well. My TJ Wrangler will get it after a few repairs.
