Think this is the 3rd or 4th time I've taken the class and had a fun time again with some unexpected real world applications. At least it was unexpected for me because I don't watch the news or the weather. We got rained on alot. Mags were very finicky releasing when practicing reloads requiring some of us having to strip rather than rely on gravity and mud and grass got all up in them when they hit the ground. For me things were slick and tacky which complicated drawing while wearing a rain jacket. I'm definitely seeing some improvement in myself as stuff I used to think about are moving to muscle memory territory which unfortunately exposed other things to work on now like acquiring my sights after drawing instead of point shooting. When on a timer, everything goes out the window when that thing beeps and that's when muscle memory kicks in, lol, so practice practice practice. We had all skill levels from someone shooting for the first time to experienced shooters and we all had something to learn.

There’s an old saying ... If it ain’t rainin’ you ain’t trainin’! ... and you found out part of the reason. Good for you and the others who stuck it out and learned what happens when a little crappy weather is added.

We got dumped on for sure over and over... wet, windy and cold. No one quit. I forgot my damn chair...again.

I had to save one young man by giving him my Frog Togg jacket and getting my backup jacket from the car. He was shivering so badly his shooting was starting to look like a blind man shooting from a trampoline. We had one young lady who was tough as nails, wearing completely inappropriate shoes for bad weather and a no doubt warm, but not water proof jacket. She also was shivering sodden mess and no doubt miserable, but stuck it out with zero complaints. It was my first pistol class in about three months i think, so i was certainly shooting poorly for me. Shooting is a perishable skill. I was getting back into the swing of it by about round 200 or so. I slept like a rock when i got home. Its good to be training again. Hope to see people next Saturday for rifle or whatever is on the schedule.

Good to see you there Steve.

OK, so I just liked the freaky Patrick Swayze picture.

    Don't jump to any conclusions.
