Confession time…I neglect my rifles. As in, I’ve been shooting the same suppressed SBR for about 6 years and have never done more than hose the BCG down with CLP before shooting. Maybe every now and then I might blow some air through the firing pin channel and wipe down the pin.

That’s it. No gas rings, springs, bore brush.

I’ve also never had a failure.

So, somebody give me the “To Do” list.

Spay the BCG, upper and lower with some brake cleaner. To check the glass rings, set the BCG bolt down, does it collapse to the fired position? If not, they are still good. Relube with the CLP and your good to go. I do this once a year to my AR's.

I gotta know…what barrel and bcg is it? Extend the bolt and set the bcg on a flat surface with the bolt face down. If the bolt retracts then it’s time for new bolt rings. If it doesn’t move then keep going.

Any estimation on round count?

A couple thousand.

Very impressive. I usually do the same after a range session. Just take out the bcg/ch and spray with aerolized lube and wipe down.

What brand bcg and barrel is it?

If I remember correctly, it’s a BA Hanson barrel. BCG is in the US cleaner now, knowing me, it wasn’t a high falutin’ brand.

Rings are definitely worn. Firing pin could be replaced.

It’s a Superlative Arms gas block. There’s a boat load of carbon fouling all over the gas block. Probably from the ASR mount being a POS, but I’ll clean that up, shoot a bit unsuppressed and see what’s up.
