I'm building a goofy 22lr AR from cheap parts and after assembling the lower today, I'm having issues with the trigger.

If you cock it gently it releases fine. If you cock it by pulling it all the way back by hand or racking the bolt, it clicks twice when you cock it and then won't release. I can't see anything wrong with it and if I poke something against the disconnector it clicks and then the trigger releases as normal.

I've never had this issue before and it's baffling. It's a cheap LPK and I don't even remember where I got it but it's a basic trigger.

Anyone got any insights?

Swap out each piece of the trigger assembly until the problem goes away. Discard the part that caused the grief.

Even if the part is the lower receiver.

I don't have any more triggers without gutting another rifle. Lol

Only time I had a similar problem was with an aftermarket drop in style cassette trigger group. Was also using it in a dedicated 22LR build I did. It was a Rise Armament brand and they took care of it quickly, very good customer service. But once cocked the hammer would not fall. Yanked it out and dropped in a GI trigger group and it functioned perfectly.

Check the disconnect or spring. I’ve seen one get weak and could raise the disconnector to its pre trigger pull position.
Yep, was just fiddling with it and swapping parts from another rifle. Looks like the trigger and hammer work fine with another disconnector. I noticed the one that doesn't work isn't as long in the back. Guess I'll order a new disconnector!
