Looking at doing a light weight AR10 Pistol.

Likely 308, 12", considering 8.6blk, but i could do another upper later for that.

Aero M5 will be the lower used. This will be a slow over time build, likely most of the year.

I have a 12" Aero 308 build and it didn't take long to find out the Aero doesn't make a handguard less than 12.7"...
My Hybrid 36M doesn't fit inside of it either.

I have a 16" 8.6 build and also plan to build a 12" version of it.

I wonder if I could find a 13.7 and use a jmac dead air mount for 16"

Another option is a 14.5" 6.5 Creedmoor or poking around 277 fury.

6.5 would keep my round diversity down since I have a bolt gun 6.5 and nothing in 308 currently.

After a bit of issues with getting it shipped. Finally got the first part. Got a 2.5lb single stage cmc trigger drop in also.

I think the 13.9 308 will be the winner. LPVO optic. Then shave weight where I can. But this would be an excellent 600 and in heavy hitter.

14.5" 6.5 Creedmoor has been hitting my yt feed a bit lately while looking at different options, and it would match caliber with Bergara.
I haven’t done a lot of research on short barrel 6.5 Creedmoors. So I cannot give any advice on its performance. One main thing that stands out thought is the cost and availability of ammo. You will have more selections, including sub-sonic, and mil-surplus. Keep us posted on the 6.5 if you go that route. It will be interesting to see how it performs.

LMT and KAC both have this out, as MRGGs.

But:

I think in theory, it makes more sense for me.

ammo price on low end is 80 cents, and goes up from there.

Geez, I was literally about to purchase a Ruger SFAR as a general purpose, slash hunting rifle. Now I gotta go down this rabbit hole, but I seem to recall a little shade thrown on 6.5 Creedmor for use on white tail deer. More studying for me I guess.

I think the issue with deer and 6.5 is bullet selection. 243 has taken plenty of whitetails, and its 6mm in diameter.

I once shot a 188 lb. buck with a .243. First shot was money, but he ran 80 yards to the right and stopped looking at me broadside (I thought the first shot missed). Shot number two put him on the ground and shot number three kept him from getting up and running more. Some people may have had great luck with a .243 for deer, but I’ll never carry an .243 in the deer woods again.

I compared a Wyndham Weaponry R16FSFT, Springfield Saint and an SFAR today. I believe I’m going with the SFAR. The weight numbers in print vs. reality was somewhat substantial, to me anyway.

I've been considering a Ruger SFAR as well. I have seen a handful of reviews saying there are some mods that need to be done right away to make it more reliable.
I haven't scrapped the idea but a left handed Stag AR10 is my other option...
