I just came into an armalite ar17 in 12 gauge. I’ve never seen one so I took it on trade for some tree work. Anyone have any info? It’s insanely light for a 12 gauge.

Built only between 1964 and 1965, a total of 1,200 of the AR-17 two-shot auto shotguns were made. Supposedly, there were also 800 additional complete parts kits produced. MSRP at the time was approximately $130.

Never heard of them until now. Pretty cool.

needs a good cleaning before it gets locked up. It’s been shot for sure but for a 60s shotgun I think it’s in alright shape.
