After watching video again it’s very disappointing that the truck occupants were not armed. Would love to watch the reaction when these modern artists and poetry majors get shot in the chest. Or when Johnny on his left flanks head turns into mist...

Has there been any cases in court on these nutjobs threatening a driver and the driver responds in kind? Not being sarcastic. I'm wondering. I bought Fox LE pepper spray cans and smoke grenades for each of our cars to toss out to disperse the crowd to create a way out, but that was for when they were just standing around and banging with fists. Firearms brings a whole new threat.

The crowd isn't always stationary.
The crowd is a moving mob that takes whatever street or intersection they want.
The crowd could be a couple blocks away but on top of you in 5 minutes
I hope none of us face this situation.
If so, keep your cameras running if you can. Just my guess, but you probably see it coming, so get that phone out and have it rolling for as much evidence as you possibly can.
We're all quite smart here, heard many stories of shootings and such. We know that if you shoot someone you'll, likely, have a hard time after with teh police. Im not stating they'll harass you or anything like that, but you'll have lots of explaining to do, reports to fill out, there will be an investigation. Will be here, too.
But what worries me is these freaking scumbags who want to dox anyone that isnt with them. If you do something in this crowd, 50 people + will be recording and trying to find out who you are. That scares me, and I live alone. Many have families, that's far scarier. These people do not think rationally. They are morons brainwashed by someone above. They, on their own, are weak, but they have numbers on their side and mob mentality is a scary things.
Yall stay safe. Stay armed. Be prepared. But, please, CYA, have as much evidence as possible and dont post anything on here that could be considered 'hunting' a situation etc

Another thought, DSG, what if youre driving downtown and make a 'blind' turn onto a 1-way street, never seeing this mob around the corner. What do you do if its a 1-way?

I tell people, training is adding to your Rolodex of solutions. It's how or brains work. We see a scenario and we reference our Rolodex for the correct response. When we come up blank, no known solution for this scenario, is when we freeze, not knowing what to do. If it's a non-stressful event, we go into learn mode. If it's stressful, we panic. This includes virtual training in your head, running "what if" scenarios. Certain "default" responses are handy. Duck and cover, and exit the kill zone come to mind.

Do we know for sure the truck occupants were not lawfully armed? I would have drove off on the grass to get away from the mob instead of two three point turns and more mob.

Someone points a gun at you while your in your car, it’s a threat of carjacking or worse. The threat, as in the concepts of ability, opportunity, and jeopardy justify the use of deadly force. Pointing a gun at you meets all three.
