Article: Southern chicken chain expands into NC and SC, takes aim at Bojangles in Charlotte

You did but it was so good it went out of business.

I know. LOL Was there for only a year or two, but couldn’t break Bojangles’ lock on the fast food breakfast biscuit market on Lenoir Rhyne Blvd.

Better biscuits. Better eggs. Better steak. Worse revenues.

Location is everything. One of the busiest roads in Hickory but impossible to get back out on the road. In the restaurant business location and accessability trumps quality every time.

Speaking of chicken KFC here has drivethru wait times in the 35 minute plus range. Multiple people have told me of their own experiences. Mine have been 39 and 26 but they are dead to me now.

I was hoping we were getting Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles..haha. Oh well. I am kidding, I have never seen a Slim Chickens though.

Yeah, that was a bad location. Hardees has survived there, surprisingly. Though, if you are going to Hardees, you aren't concerned about time, anyway.

For as much as I like the place, Bo has forced me to stop going there, in my area at least, due to the inept employees they hire.

.
Ever since they sold out to the 2 investment companies their service has gone downhill. Around here, it takes forever to go through the drive in. They need to take some lessons from Chik-Fil-A.

CFA is THE metric by which to measure customer service. They are always tops.

We stopped at a Bojangles on the way back from the beach this week. It was in a very rural area, right off the highway. We were the only people in the dining room. The food was fast, it was fresh, it was hot, the service was great. Sadly, they are an outlier.

I don't get the Zaxby's hate. The ones I've bought from were pretty good. The only thing I don't like from there is the buffalo sauce.

Tands, Inc has the Bojangles in ENC. The one in Beulaville needs to close. The one on Hwy 70 @ 11 in Kinston by far has to be their best one. We still have Chedderbo in the east.

Hardee's is okay. they still have chicken as far as I know in Beulaville. McDonald's has better biscuits, but damn.

Popeye's is alright chicken. I love those little biscuits. I haven't had their sandwich.

I know I am one of the few that does not like Chickfala

Zaxby is alright.

Just a fat boy's opinion.

Is there a Hardee's in 2 hours of your house? Helll, you got The Best Service Station fried chicken in America right there in the thriving metropolis of Wagrum, N.C. French Fries are DAMN good too.
There's a Hardee's in Raeford and one in Laurinburg.

Next time, try the pizza. It's good too!

("Thriving metropolis"....snort, chuckle!)

Good luck. When my buddy moved to Portland he couldn’t find a breakfast spot worth anything. After a year he found a place with decent buttermilk biscuits. After speaking with the owner turn out they were from Siler City, NC. Apparently no one out there can make a biscuit for shit.

Zaxby is aweful. They surely can beat them. Hard to tackle the Bojangles. Good luck getting help. Anybody besides me not impressed with Popeye’s chicken sammich? Also Wendy’s is very good in the chicken market.

I like Popeye's chicken. They've got the seasoning down very well. I always get a 2 piece breast meat meal there. Their sammich WILL fill you up. I like them, too, but the sammiches are kind of....awkward? And their spicy sammich isn't all that to me.

Zaxby's...meh. I have to be in the mood for their particular flavor.

Chik-Fil-A? They've go it down pat with their sammiches and you absolutely can't beat their service.

Bojangles is OK, too. They've got a good flavor.

I'm very open to trying this new Slim Chicken's place to see how they are.

I've never had any Biscuitville.

BoJangles, meh. I like their steak biscuit, but not for 8 or more hours. Go away, already!

Hardee's. Always good, never popular.

CFA. If there was one in my town, I would be pooping nuggets and pissing Polynesian in a month.

I've eaten one Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich. It was the highlight of meeting @Etruett for the first time.

I stopped at a bojangles last week in Greensboro. I was in a big truck so I parked in the shopping center next door and walked over.

Sign on the door clearly reads "Dining room closed, open for carryout or curbside pickup only". Not a problem and what I expected, I'll get it and eat in the truck. Nope, door is locked. So I walk around to the other door and it is locked too. So I knock because the drivethrough is busy.

A rude ass employee comes to the door and tells me they ain't lettin nobody in but I can call for curbside. Yeah no thanks.
It’d been entertaining if you then got in the drive through line, blocked it because the t truck’s too big, then politely asked if you could place the order now, as cars back up.

Those idiots wouldn’t have cared at all. Less work for them.

I used to eat the steak biscuit at Bojangles. But they changed it many years ago and I can’t stand the current one.

I think Hardee’s and Biscuitville easily surpass Bojangles for this item.

Polynesian sauce is now sold in grocery stores… in case you didn’t know.

I learned that the other day, but I don't think I would want it with anything other than CFA nuggets.

But I also haven't tried it with anything other than CFA nuggets.

My kids order CFA through the school to be delivered for lunch, but they cannot order sauce. Now they take a little container of sauce with them!

I used to leave my office at morning break and drive to Bojangles just to get a steak biscuit in the mornings 42 years ago when I got out of school. They were the best.

Zaxby's is OK, but overpriced for 'just' chicken. I don't see the popularity of Popeye's. The handful of times I have eaten it I didn't care for it. Maybe because one of the first times Ihad it was when it was almost $10 for a combo at the airport in Atlanta, and I got sick from it.

That sorry excuse for a chicken sandwich that MCD is pushing is just nasty. Chick Fil A then Popeye's is what I like. BOJ ran out of supreme again,
enjoyed two chicken biscuits instead. :)

From what I heard today the problem is a shortage of workers at the processing plants. Plenty of chicken available but apparently many who were laid off due to the China virus have not / will not come back to work.

.

I don't get the Cajun fillet biscuit anymore. It's a sliver of chicken between a ton of breading. Believe it or not....the $2 southern style from McDonald's was the best out there.....well they ruined that. The new chicken biscuit tastes like dill pickle. I despise dill pickle but if I didn't I still wouldn't want it on my biscuit. Bad move by McDonald's imo
