Unless they know the mother is dead, those cubs were not orphaned until the people took them. Clear the idiots away. Leave the cubs in the tree. Mom will be back to get them. The idea that animals abandon their young if people touch them is BS. And the bears are getting more imprinted by humans now that they are caring for them.

This was some grade A selfish sh*t - maybe those people should be paying for 'bear rehab' considering they are the cause of it...

Harassing wildlife should be a felony and those people should have been arrested/charged

Not quite. There were 2 cubs, one that they can't find. Why? Probably because momma came back for it or called it out.

The idiots that grabbed the bear left it in an enclosed apartment fence when they were done. Either because they are extra stupid, or couldn't catch it again. The NCWRC came and got it. And instead of putting it outside the fence, they took it to rehab. I've watched bears with cubs. It does not make me an expert but mom wanders off doing mom stuff and cubs wander around doing cub stuff. They are not always side by side, but they tend to be close enough to find each other. Until groups of moron people get involved to "do what's best." As a species we are arrogant enough to think we know everything, and usually make a situation worse.

And they didn't charge anyone for anything either. Here are your morons.

A little justice maybe “In a press release April 18, the wildlife commission stated a bear cub bit one of the people during the interaction.”
