How many years do you guys typically get out of a motorcycle battery?

I noticed a while back the battery tender on my '04 Low Rider was red and not keeping the battery charged. Took the tender off and put the charger on it and it never would take a charge. Tried the "repair" option but nothing happened. So I pulled the battery out today and replaced it. It was a Duracell DURAGM-20L-US, USA made battery, that was made in Dec 2014. Felt a little better that it lasted 9 years. I looked at a lot of batteries online and most only had a 3 month warranty. Went back with the Duracell and it has a 2 year free replacement warranty.

It seems to vary. I've gotten anywhere from 3 - 7 years out of them. The 3 year was a surprise; I expected it to last longer.

If you got 9 years out of a motorcycle battery, you got your moneys worth. I usually figure five to seven years, and I don’t push it. Coz if I’m in BFE West Virginia, miles from civilization, I don’t want any surprises.
9 years - do you keep it on some type of battery minder / trickle charger ?

I keep mine on a Battery Tender when the bikes are not in use. They aren’t infallible, but I haven’t found anything better.

Average for me on my 2005 RK I bought new has been about 4-1/2 years, plus or minus a little. Once it decides to go, it seems to go pretty quick.

I’m pretty sure my 2016 road glide has the original battery in it. I keep it on a tender. Probably should go ahead and replace it before it strands me somewhere.

I changed the battery in my 98 Valk last month. I bought it in 2017, so at least 7yrs out of that one, don't know how old it was when I got it. I don't have a battery tender, but ride fairly regularly.
