That ain't bacon.
Go read my Makin' Me Own Bacon thread, then go and do likewise. Reclaim that man-card, brother!
BS! That bacon grease is mine, all mine!'What do you use the grease for?'
barter.
BOURBON!!!!
Wright brand thick cut at Sam's. Oh my! And the grease is fantastic.
Our cousin gave me the cup and spoon that sat in my Great Grand Mother's fireplace to collect bacon grease. Ain't seen anybody mention it yet but I contend you ain't never had no French Fries ifen they weren't cooked in bacon grease. Good lord, I'm going to make me some right NOW!!!!!Aldi's peppered bacon is awesome. I have never bought any other bacon once I discovered this. The wife has a little tiny percolator from way back that sits on the stove and it holds the bacon grease.
Have you tried the apple wood smoked version yet? It's awesome! The Smithfields apple wood and cherry wood smoked thick cut is pretty darn fine as well.
Yes. This is Nirvana. Not Best But definitely a mainstay. If you are going to ever have a last meal. This is probably one to consider. So you all missed the most important use - fried chicken. Best fried chicken ever.
Yes. Pour the hot grease in a small mason jar and store it in the fridge. Easy to put dollops in any pan in place of oil or butter. Works good for baking too.Does it need to be refrigerated?
If you saw how it was made and what it was made from you'd be back to eating pork in short order!I'm gonna have to pick up the next batch o' bacon. My wife has been buying that turkey bacon. It doesn't smell like bacon and there's no grease left over for the stuff I like to cook with it.
Definitely my favorite bacon....period!Wright brand thick cut at Sam's. Oh my! And the grease is fantastic.
I'll second all of the above. We use it when we fry squash, carrots, or any other veggie. Put it in green beans. Technically have not used it for eggs but need to, however there is usually some residual left in the cast iron so there is that.
No, however I refrigerate mineDoes it need to be refrigerated?

At least hot dogs are made from scrap meatI'm not too worried about it. I've seen how hot dogs are made. I still eat hot dogs.
And there's already pork bacon in the fridge for me.

Skin, bones, connective tissue....that's what it is, not left over trimmingsI didn't realize that "mechanically separated turkey" doesn't count as meat.

I keep mine in a metal 1 pound coffee can right by the stove just like my Mama and her Mama before her did. Use it to cook eggs, flavor beans, flavor chicken & rice, flavor...........Does it need to be refrigerated?
I freeze mine but momma never did.Does it need to be refrigerated?
