That's some amazing data. It also makes me feel pretty good about my EDC ammo:

Looks like Hornady Critical Defense.

B00ger has it right, it's critical defense. Penetration in 9mm is just on the edge of acceptable but expansion (and in theory energy transfer) was impressive.

Good information here. I did some testing of my own a few years ago with HSTs first came out. One bullet that I was really surprised with was the Remington/UMC 230gr JHP...you know the one, the 100rd value pack that would could buy for $45 at the time. I think they're $60ish now. Anyway, they expanded very well and held their weight. I actually keep several hundred of them on hand simply because of that test. They aren't my top pick for SD but I wouldn't be afraid to use them. Also, if someone is on a tight budget but wants a good bullet, it's a solid option.
IF anyone wants the pics/bullet weights I could probably dig the info up.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing that information.

Thanks for the link.

Really surprised at how the Hydra Shok's expanded (or rather....didn't) compared to the HST.

I carry Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P....has been debating a swap to 147gr but I guess I'll stick with a known quantity
