I want one. Never used anything by my gas one (2-cycle machine where you swap trimmer, edger, blower, etc attachments).

I don’t own any other battery powered equipment, and not sure if/when I would. Mainly used to blow off deck, patio, sidewalk, garage floor and driveway. I guess occasionally other things like cleaning out the dryer vent.

Seeing everything from 20V to 80V. All kinds of mph and cfm ratings. Not really looking for something to blow leaves out of a yard, just cleaning off hard surfaces.

Input and suggestions?

No clue on a blower, but I have a Ryobi battery trimmer, vacuum, lights and compressor. Love them all. Impressive power. Plus I have a battery chainsaw from Stihl. It is awesome. So buy good stuff and it will be fine within its limitations. I would think typical suburban work would be handled fine.

I have an 80v echo trimmer with a few different attachments, one of which is a small blower. Is works well for blowing grass clippings (light duty).

If I were to get something for leaves (medium duty), as you describe, I’d look at the 60v flex DeWalt. The big benefit here aside from good quality is the wide range of tool options with that battery.

If you want something cheaper, look at Ryobi One+ system, Worx (CLT HQ, good selection of refurbs on their eBay store), or Greenworks (Mooresville HQ ironically).

I bought a Kobalt 80v blower and hedge trimmer this summer. I haven't replaced my gas powered backpack blower yet after it died. For little jobs like cleaning off the porch, drying off the car or blowing the grass off the mower it works good.

Been satisfied with the Kobalt 80v stuff. The hedge trimmer is a beast and slayed down so wayward grape vine will ease.
I probably will pick up the pole saw at some point.

If you buy one at Lowes just make sure there is a battery in the box. Apparently the batteries are the most commonly stolen thing.

I have the dewalt 40v blower. I love it. But dewalt nuked the 40v line. It has a lot of power and it quiet, no hearing protection needed.

ive used the 60v version and it’s just as good.

I have the DeWalt 20v trimmer and blower.
Trimmer works great around the mailbox and edge of the house.
The blower works well for blowing out the garage or sidewalk but if I did it again I’d get the 60v blower for the driveway in the fall.

I have the Kobalt chainsaw, weed eater, and leaf blower in 80v.

The highest speed on the blower is rather impressive.

Brother bought my son one of these just kinda as a joke since he wanted one a few years back and wasnt but 6 years old to agrevate me and wife but honestly I been pretty impressed with it just for hard surface clean up. Holds charge well and Battery last about 10-15 mins depending if you run it on the turbo speed or not. If your not using turbo it last a little longer. Output wise its not much diffrent than a gas blower when its on turbo.

I had to replace a set of gas hedge trimmers a couple of years back and wanted something commercial, found the shindaiwa battery version for a good deal and picked it up along with an extra battery. I can trim all the hedges at both my and my parents houses and still have over half the first battery left. Second battery hasn’t really been needed at all. If you’re gonna be doing much I’d look for the commercial version, most of your major lawn care mfgrs now have a battery powered line too.

Have B&D blower and string trimmer that use a small battery pack. Got this system because of weight so my wife can use it. Both work well specifically for the applications the OP mentions. Only thing I dont like is the controls on the blower that require you to have the "boost" button continuously pressed down to get max CFM that you need to get the job done. We also bought a Toro 120v corded blower for blowing off the yard. Corded again because the battery one was too heavy for the wife. The Toro had a knob on it that operated a potentiometer for CFM speed control that promptly broke off. Toro wouldnt do anything about it so they are on my s#it list.

The 2 I’d consider would be the Milwaukee handheld or the ryobi backpack. Just depends on what you want to spend and what other tools you might consider getting. We have/use both and they work well.

I have the dewalt 20v. It’s loud imho and works great for modest jobs. When I want to blow the acorns out of the grass I go to the backpack gas guzzler.

I have the small Ryobi blower that uses my drill batteries, 20 v I think. It is perfect for what you’re talking about. We keep it in camper to blow leaves and spiders off campsites. I would not want to clear off a whole yard with it but fine decks and driveway

Dont get a Husqvarna. My wife hates hers. The chargers break after a year or so.

Another vote for Kobalt. I have their 24V tools. The chainsaw has been great.

Same, Use the little 20v Dewalt for blowing out the garage and sidewalks. Stihl backpack for anything in the yard. I'm very happy with the Dewalt for it's intended use.

Used the spray nozzle with my 35 gallon air compressor yesterday. Worked great but limited by the rubber hose length.

look into something that will share batteries with a 1/2" drill cuz I know you need one of those as well

I had a Stihl bg56c hand held that pooped out, wife wanted a battery powered one she could get started. Ended up with a 60 volt Greenworks. Love it pick it up & go. Does as good as the Stihl did.

I have all the dewalt 60v stuff. Its all good imo.. the only issue we had with the leaf blower, and maybe we are a fluke, was the pinion gear is pressed on the shaft and came lose and would whir real loud. I removed it, drilled and tapped a setscrew which i thread locked in place. No issues since.

I have the largest/most powerful gas backpack blower on the market. That said I use a 40V Ryobi blower for both my garage/shop and decks. It got it hanging on the wall in the house garage and it’s super easy to grab and use right away. We leave our dogs in our house garage when gone so they get lots of dog hair everywhere. Takes 1 minutes to blow out. I am anal about keeping my garage/shop clean.

This is the one I have. They have larger models now. I would try and shoot for 100 MPH and 500 CFM though.

For anything cleaning off hard services this is all you need. Trust me, I hate taking more time than needed and this works. If it didn’t I would buy bigger but it’s not needed.

For leaf cleanup on a large lot, this isn’t what you need but as you said for hard services

Go with whichever brand 20v cordless tools you have and be happy. The little buggers are handy as hell.

A while ago I grabbed a b&d on clearance (it's easy to make em work with porter cable 20v) just on a whim.

I use that little thing constantly. Blowing out the shop, bed of the truck, subfloor to chalk lines, blowing out saws before loading them, sidewalks, decks. You name it.

Super convenient. Low noise, don't need to crank the backpack blower or drag a hose and cord around and find a blower for the compressor. Just turn it on.

As long as it's dry and there isn't tons up material building up. I'm frankly impressed and super happy with it.

For giggles I blew off my driveway. About 100' of asphalt covered in dry leaves. Not very thick. One 1.5ah battery did the job but it wouldn't push it off over into the grass without effort

what @Trevillian everything we have is dewalt so to share batteries we also purchased a dewalt blower.

I use this one on construction job sites and all around the house. Garage, basement, leaves, sidewalks, decks, etc... Does not come with battery. Lifetime warranty if registered. All Rigid is lifetime and their are dozens of other tools the battery fits. Says 105 mph. Battery is the same as about a dozen of my other tools. 4ah battery and charger is another $100.

I bought the 60V Greenworks blower and string trimmer as a set. No problems, no regrets. Only fire up the Echo when it has the pruner, edger, or hedge trimmer attachment on it.

I have the greenworx hedge trimmer, chainsaw, and blower. All items have exceeded my expectations and been reliable. They will not do heavy duty work but they will get 95% if the work I do in my yard.

Ive got a Cobalt 40V, hedge trimmer, chainsaw, and blower. The blower and hedge trimmer work great - and I'm glad I got them. The chainsaw is good for small trees and limbs. None of them has caused any issues - batteries (knock on wood) have lasted over 1.5 years with weekly recharging. Downside is replacement batteries are north of $60 bucks - almost cheaper to replace the device (on sale) than buy a new battery.

The guys in the grounds dept at work use these to blow walkways and roads.

The superintendent seems to like them. Personally I hate the handheld type blowers because they wear my wrist and arm out after an hour or so of use. But it may be my girlish wrists, too 😀. They‘ve been using them daily for a couple years now, so I suppose the machines work well.

I have the Kobalt 80v blower, trimmer, lil chainsaw, tree pruner, walk behind mower. They all work well and are essentially maintenance free. I like them.

I have two Greenworks string trimmers, and the blower, all 60 volt. Love them. Been running them since they came out, not one problem out of any.

I did the Ego string trimmer and blower. Love it so far. Use it more than the gas powered stuff and ended up selling it. Disclaimer - I don't have multiple acres like some of you guys.
