I have seen this movie, maybe 5 times. It has a very predictable plot, but it is one of the best movies I've seen in terms of small-unit tactics. Of course they get some things goofy and wrong here and there, but overall, it is a very realistic portrayal of Marine Corps squad and platoon movement and tactics.

Some things drive me crazy, like after a firefight all they do is stand there and wait, instead of collapsing into a defensive perimeter or maneuvering into position. But again I overlook stuff like that.

If anyone signs up because of that movie then it only solidifies the jokes about crayon eaters etc - theyre fighting dang aliens.
