The lowercase “s” denoting semi-auto …

Beretta is sorely late to the game in this sector and a blowback bolt is so passé with so many delayed roller-block options (tremendously reduced felt recoil +/or muzzle rise) available now … but, I’m keeping an open mind*.

* Haven’t looked at the price Beretta has set yet but, prices have plummeted across the board (cz evo, b&t, grand power Stribog, etc.) - and particularly for direct blowback options - since recent brace rule published and warehouse inventories are just stacking up so, it will not surprise me if they msrp themselves out of all but the most loyal beretta customers. Hope they don’t tho …

* #1 question tho (before I’d leap) is, how readily available and how economically priced are, say, a couple dozen surplus mags? (gotta think about future generations!!!!!!!!!!!)

So twice the price of a comparable 9mm AR, mags are sure to be more expensive and harder to find, significantly limited options for customization and you know Beretta will drop it as soon as they realise it isn't going to sell.....

Clearly designed for a side folding stock, but the back has a QD swivel mount. Don’t see an easy way to unlock it, so I assume they designed it to be a permanent mod to make the back end functional for a stock or brace.

And the Beretta CX4 owners wept, for they knew the time of discontinuation was soon to be upon them.
They've been "discontinuing" the CX4 for years now.
What they should have done is modernize the Cx4. Thread the barrel, redesign the stock without a thumbhole and maybe an adjustable stock, remove the sights and make it a flat top.

Not to mention what a joy it is to try and work with customer service on a warranty repair.

I'm always amazed how short sighted Beretta is since they've being around for centuries.

Cougar could have been more popular if it used 92 magazines during the AWB, but nope.
PX4 same deal, but they had foresight for a 92-pattern CX4.
APX not even compatible with PX4 magazines.
All the magazines are based on the 92 with slightly different magazine catch systems.

I believe it was the late Todd Louis Green said during his tenure at Beretta USA was that every decision that BUSA proposed had to go through Beretta Italy to be micromanaged.

They've done so many bonehead things through the years.

They put out the ARX, which should have been a successful firearm. They promised caliber changes and other parts and then didn't and pretty much killed that rifle stateside.

The U22 Neos is another firearm they screwed up. It was really neat looking, fun to shoot, and came with the ability to mount optics from the factory-something that most manufacturers are just now starting to do. They had a cool carbine conversion kit for it but you could never find it. Then they just quietly stopped having anything to do with it and discontinued it.

The lesson I've learned is that if you want something Beretta makes that isn't some form of a 92 pistol, just wait long enough and you can get whatever it is on clearance.

but not too long or else the price doubles/triples
arx goes for inflated pricing, and a neos stock kit is likely to run you 1000. I really really want that neos kit, but no way.

We won't have to worry about magazines disappearing (at least those who have the 92 version), but it might not be a bad time to stock up on other parts.
