I’ve used KBB, Edmunds, and TrueCar and probably others over the years. Does anyone have a recommendation for a “current world” vehicle valuation tool? I’m thinking about trading my F150 and ordering a F250. Need to know what to expect from trade to make sure I’m squeezing every dollar out of the current truck.

2012 F150 loaded XLT, 4x4, FX4, 90k miles in great condition

Guesstimates from the online tools range $16k to $21k, but not sure if those numbers are adjusted for today’s world or old numbers.

You might see what carvana(dot)com will pay. Lately they’ve been offering some high offers for used vehicles.

All of those sites were only a ball park in normal times. These days, things are changing so quickly they can’t keep up.

I recommend a different approach. Act as if you’re a prospective buyer shopping for a truck just like yours and see what you can find. Then you can figure out from there how much of a hit you’ll take for trade-in vs retail.

Good suggestions! Thanks to both of you…. Knocking $5k off my trade, I’m still ahead of the game. See what happens. Not committing to anything yet.

The way people are buying trucks nowadays, why trade it in? Sell it yourself. They are going for stupid money, Carvana is selling them from 20K-30K.

But also, you will be paying stupid money to replace it right now.
