Is there a better value RMR footprint red dot with shake awake than the 507C (~$225)?

I don’t want a no-name, budget optic, although I got lucky with the $99 Riton (RMSC/HoloK footprint). I have a spare Vortex Venom (Doctor footprint) but it doesn’t have shake awake, and battery life is 150-3,000hrs, so it’s either change the battery every few months or turn it off when not in use. I want this to be an optic worthy of carrying on a pistol, so turning it on before use is not an option.

Good suggestion and I may go that route for the extra ~$50, but I still think the 507C is the better bang for the buck.
I think for the little bit more you pay the 508T is a better option. The titanium housing is nice, and I personally prefer the all black look as well.

As I expected, it seems like the 507C is the best way to go.

However, since I mentioned the Riton MPRD, it got me thinking that I should do a quick search to see if I can find their larger RMR version, the PRD, for close to $100 like the mini. To my pleasant surprise, I found it for $129 shipped! I really do like the MPRD, especially for the price, so I figured since I need 2-3 dots, I’ll give one of these a try first. This one won’t be a ccw, so I’m fine trying out something new.

Add to cart for $119 + $10 s/h, no tax

The Swampfox Justice did really well in the Sage Dynamics torture test. That guy puts dots through some hell.

I’m eying that one for a ruger mkiv myself. Should be fine for that purpose i would think

Does it have to be the RMR footprint? Does it have to be open emitter? - you're probably best off picking up an EPS when you can find them, less than an RMR but more than a 507c. Outside of that, you could get more "budget-y" by getting the 407c. I have a 507c but never use the circle so it's kinda wasted. Not sure if you're the same way.

I guarantee the used market will be flooded with 507c when the EPS is more available.

I buy used optics as much as possible unless there is a good deal on a new one. Buying used for a good deal let's you try it without committing to a massive buy if you don't like it. Easy to turn around and sell if you're not a fan. Maybe you'll lose $10-20 after you ship, but that's worth it to me to "rent" it for a bit and try out.

Any pics? How did you mount it on yours?
Sure. I posted a pic and link in the Riton deal thread, post #15. This was before I replaced the crappy Romeo Zero. I wish the more seamless mounts like the Lobo were actually in stock, but I haven’t seen them available.

I agree with @IrishCannon The 407c is the best deal on rmr footprint stuff. There was a great clearance deal at PSA on them just a week or two ago.

Thanks
I am eyeing the riton holosun 507c and the vortex viper
Price is
Riton $130 shipped
Ortex viper is $150 shipped
Holosun is about $200 shipped
Will be going on a ruger mkiv

The PSA deal for the 407C is really good, IF you like that reticle. I’m not a fan of the 8moa circle.

I’m selling my spare Venom now that I have the Riton on the way.

I got my Riton PRD in the mail today. Just as expected, a larger version of the MPRD and RMR footprint. But also, it comes with a nicer than expected picatinny base and rubber cover, like Vortex uses.

I have to get it out to the range but for the $129 I paid and purpose of this gun (non ccw), I’m quite happy.
