President Joe Biden is expected to nominate Gabby Giffords’ gun control affiliate David Chipman to head the ATF on Thursday.

The Associated Press reported Chipman “has for years worked as a senior policy adviser at Giffords,” a law center relied on by gun control proponents throughout the country.

Biden is expected to nominate Chipman to head the ATF at the same time he will be announcing executive action for gun control.

Breitbart News noted Biden’s executive gun control is expected to center on firearms which Democrats label as “ghost guns.” Such guns are built from partially completed frames and parts kits, requiring the builder to have the components, equipment, and know-how to finish out a firearm.

Biden is expected to use executive action to require background checks for the purchase of “ghost gun” components.

He is going to have some splanin to do at his confirmation hearing.

Lol this dude had an Ask Me Anything a year ago with some gems:

At Waco, cult members used 2 .50 caliber Barretts to shoot down two Texas Air National Guard helicopters. Point, it is true we are fortunate they are not used in crime more often. The victims of drug lords in Mexico are not so lucky. America plays a role in fueling the violence south of the border. (link)

Hello Mr. Chipman,
As a former ATF Special agent, what is the point of 922(r)? Also is this even enforceable by the ATF and to whom (private citizens like myself vs. importers/ 07 manufacturers)? Thank you for your response!

That's a great question I have absolutely no idea. I didn't have occasion to be involved in an import case such as this. (link)

And you can find one dude on twitter posting about it and there's even an article about it on lawofficer.com - Obviously the media will not allow this story to go unheard....

It occurs to me that if Chipman was FBI SWAT, then he must have been buddies with Lon Horiuchi.

ETA - As I suspected, he was at Ruby Ridge as well. 🤨

Joe Biden’s pick to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was an agent involved in the Ruby Ridge standoff and Waco siege – and, it was revealed this week, he lied about Branch Davidian cult members shooting down two helicopters during the infamous standoff.

It ain’t just you.

There are a lot of folks that have reservations about that dick being director.
Oh, I'm way beyond just "having reservations"! Waco and Ruby Ridge literally changed my entire way of thinking about things "governmental". I remember both as clearly as if it were yesterday.

In general, I work hard to practice "forgive, but don't forget". In those cases (and a couple of others to a slightly lesser degree), I have not been able to.

And this POS, like his brother-in-arms Horiuchi, really breaks a tripline for me.

Same here...was 19 at the time and kept up with it on tv. After Ruby Ridge, I thought heads would roll...instead, just 8 months later, I watched .gov torch American citizens at Waco.

When no one was held responsible for the murders carried out at either Idaho or Texas, that was the “switch”...that was the point I realized the only thing separating a gang or a .gov hit squad was a badge and a uniform.

And immunity for the latter.

what does a uniform do with immunity?

I was but a wee lad when RR and Waco went down. Even then, it was plain to me that it wasn't right. I hope he gets burned at the stake, or at least tarred and feathered, during the confirmation hearings. At either rate, I suspect it will be interesting to watch. What are the odds the Dems try to devise a way to bypass confirmation?

it would be a hilarious day to launch a real armed insurrection.
I AM NOT CALLING FOR ACTION - i just think it would be funny and fitting

If you have never read Unintended Consequences and Enemies Foreign and Domestic (and its sequels), you should...this is the man, that as the head of the ATF, would make those story lines come alive faster than they already are.

The Matt Bracken books are outstanding reads. They give sort of a " blueprint " of the gubbiment we are living under now.

They seem to forget, the ATF's job is not to take guns away from Americans. I hope someone realizes this in the hearings.
If we were honest about it, there is no real job for the ATF. The small things they are useful for could easily be divided up between the FBI and IRS. Then we get into how the IRS is 99% bloat and the FBI is more crooked than ever...
