It hurts my heart so much to say that I won't be able to attend this event. I had made plans since Billy posted it but, due to me being an idiot, I'll have to reschedule.
I was helping another old guy clean out a rental house that he's going to sell. He's 8 years older than me, has a pacemaker and has kidney failure. The tenants left the house in a mess. He had a construction dumpster delivered and we filled it with junk.
We worked on it for 3 days. On day 4, I had to have Joanne help me get out of bed. My lower back was killing me. It has gotten some better but I still can't sit or lay for very long at a time. Once I'm up and moving around, I do OK unless I try to reach for something or need to bend.
We had planned to go to Galax for Thanksgiving with family and work our way down to Conway for Billy and Ronnie Sue's shindig. It's 17 hours driving time to Galax and 17 hours from Conway back home. Right now, there's no way I could do it. Later, maybe but, I'm concerned if I get halfway and something happens to me.
I wish I could be there to see every one. Those that do get to attend will have a grand ol' time.
Our plan is to reschedule and make the trip after the holidays. Maybe I can see some of you then.
 
After our talk the other day, I can't blame you a bit, even though we'll miss seeing you two. Heal up man, and hopefully we'll see you sooner rather than later.

Well, due to COVID and the numbers on the rise again, we have been discussing this for a few days now and we have decided to cancel the Christmas Gathering next month. Due to age;) and health issues we don't think we can take this risk with such a big group of people. I know we are really disappointed that we had to make this decision but we think it is best for all to postpone this gathering. maybe if things calm down and everything gets back to what the new normal will be, whatever that may be we can have a gathering in the spring. We'll have to wait and make that decision after the first of the year. We will miss everyone and hope that all stay well through these trying times that we are facing and have a Happy🦃 Day and a Merry🎄Christmas.

This is sad news, but of course we all have to do what's best for us and for others.
Maybe next year at this time, we'll all be saying, "I can't wait to get to BOaks for the Big Doins!!!"

I really hate it’s not going to happen But I understand. Girlfriend told me that number of Covid patients is rising rapidly at the hospital.

Hate to hear of the cancellation of Big Doin's but understand the need for caution. Was really looking forward to reconnecting with the usual suspects and picking up my Wizard shirt.
