Bill Wilson and Ken Hackathon's Crystal Ball Predictions

I don’t see Ken’s assumptions about market contraction coming to fruition. Ammo availability/pricing didn’t kill training in 2012-14. Training is not the only environment in which ammo is consumed.

People adjusted: those inclined to both training and competition adjusted disposable income budgets and shot fewer matches, and those with disposable income that enjoyed taking classes didn’t stop because it was $100-200 more in 9mm. Instructors also reduced round count overall.

I don't think that he is saying that the ammo is the only factor that will kill the training business. I took his comments about quality of the trainers moving into the business with the cost of ammo is going to squeeze out the lesser quality or less known trainers. His pricing on ammo is lagging about 6 months. You can get a case of 9mm for $325 ish.

@Amp Mangum can you offer up a synoposis?

-It is a 9mm world
-There are a lot of bad trainers in business.
-Ammo cost is going to hurt the training business
-Polymer Handguns will continue to dominate the market.
-Red Dot are only at about 75% of the way to being effective for defensive carry.
-Red Dots are not as useful for defensive shooting, inside 15yards, as many claim or we are lead to believe.
-Dots take 1,000+ rounds to get to the point where your presentation is reliable.
-Dots require more regular training than iron sights. Weekly not Quarterly.
-Bill Wilson knows the market and builds stuff that will sell even if he does not prefer them. See Red Dot sights on pistol comments.
-P365 is a game changer.
-S&W Shield was the P365 before the P365
-P320 like it or not it is here to stay so we are customizing them.
-Staccato fixed their mag issues.
-Buy the Wilson SFX9
-Alien Laugo is super crazy but interesting KH likes it.

Blackwater Fever!!!!!!!:D:pwith everybody..."Kitted Up".....
Great soldiers and even Good shooters don't necessarily make good teachers.KH.......I am an above average shooter and the WORST instructor...

I don't have a personal Need for a handgun with a red dot sight on it.BW..........Nor me...

I'm gonna say something about these sights that people are gonna get butt hurt about..KH.........The truth will set you Free!

Cool kids gotta have red dots in kydex holsters pointed at you "junk".KH............:D:D:D:D:D

If you don't like to clean and maintain your gun, buy a GlockKH.....

18 yards and back the red dot comes alive.KH..;)

It takes a thousand rounds and perhaps 2 thousand rounds to acquire the red dot.KH..;)

The distances I use a handgun for self defense, I use iron sights.KH

I think Red Dot Sights are the trend of the future...not necessarily the need of the future.KH

Sig 365 is a game changer .KH&BW.....Thanks to @Jeppo I finally committed to this . Tried the SAS...went back to irons.

Glocks point at the sky.BW....Me too.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve progressed to the point that I get virtually identical results regardless of the sighting system. I can teach you. 🤓

I’m looking forward to the WC P365 grip module. I can’t imagine what else BW would be eluding to…
