OK, I must admit that I have never made a cocktail with bitters. What the hell are bitters and who uses them? Per GOOGLE you can get them in the grocery store with the cocktail items.

I make my Old Fashioned heavy on the bitters. I really enjoy the flavor they add.Bitters are extracts used to enhance the flavor profile of a drink, or balance opposing flavors - like sweet and sour. They’re kinda like the spice rack of your liquor cabinet. The Manhattan and Old Fashioned are two of the more common drinks made with bitters - Angostura typically. The best thing to do is just pick some up and start making drinks to find what you like in what proportions.
Try honey instead of sugar, takes a little extra mixing.View attachment 188039
Here is what you're looking for. A bottle goes a long way. I too enjoy a heavily bittered old fashioned. Made with rye of course.

How much do you usually put in a drink?
7 or 8 dashes.
Check out this YouTube channel. Every week he does a new drink to try. But he has a ton of videos on learning about bitters and how to mix syrups and all that stuff. Pretty funny guy.
