It’d be cooler if it were offered in .300 blackout

Are there times when you can’t hunt with a rifle, but a pistol would be legal?

In NC, you can have a loaded pistol in your car, but not a loaded rifle.

This looks like a budget micro-braced-boltgun competitor to the Q Minifix. Sorta only makes sense in .300 BLK or a straightwall like .350 Legend, but it's fun. The modern "XP-100," but not aimed at silhouette shooting or varmints.

Edit: I am wrong on the bold part. Leaving it in so that's clear. Pretty sure I'm thinking of a game land regulation (maybe a reg I read for one of the ACE-managed lands?), but it's absolutely not a state law.

I know for certain that "no loaded rifles in vehicles" anti-poaching statutes are in effect in Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, etc. Pistols are no problem, but loaded rifles, shotguns, and even capped muzzleloaders are no-gos in quite a few states. I'm not completely insane.

Its the modern revamp of the Xp-100s. I think it had a following in the Silhouette shooting world. It was produced in some common and odd calibers. 223, 221 fireball, 22-250, and I think .260.

The new thing is a "pork sword" Rem 700 in 300blk with a 9" barrel, suppressor, and folding brace

Ahh I see JRV has beat me too it.

edited pig stick to "pork sword"

Expound…

Is “loaded” defined as a chambered cartridge or magazine in the rifle?

Where does it say you cannot have a loaded rifle in your vehicle? There might be places, like federal refuges that it cannot be loaded, but I do not believe it is a state law. I carry my rifle loaded all the time.

@Dale Gribble and @beamernc , I edited my post with an explanation.

Thanks…was just curious, as I was unaware of any NCGS that prohibited loaded rifles and precisely, what defined “loaded”.

The rifle in my vehicle has a magazine in it, but an unoccupied chamber.

A lot of people get the “loaded rifle” vs “concealed rifle” issue confused. That’s why a lot of people have AR pistols they carry in a vehicle for a truck gun instead of a rifle.

I actually had concealed in my mind when I read your post and didn’t even catch the error. 🤣

That's interesting,, and not balanced at all.. A friend had a Lone Eagle I wanted. It's balanced pistol with a howitzer breach, that's a flame thrower in 7-08. The first time out I shot a 3.75" group at 100yrds.

It looked like this.

And I was so braindead that I thought about those dumb “anti-poaching” regs and I didn’t even think of the whole “concealable AR pistol” angle. Go-bag/survival guns.

That Picatinny rail on the rear looks ready made for a brace.....I'm just sayin'............................I'm in........with a brace.

Just think Tim, this is the only time where a right handed action is actually correct for you (southpaw). Most of these pistols were run with the weak hand.

I grew up in NY state where it was shotguns or pistols! So I as soon as I turned 21 I jumped through all the hoops and got my handgun permit and bought a TC contender and other and the last few years( AR-bug) I have almost hunted exclusively with handguns. So this would be right up my ally! Get rid of that big mag sticking out the bottom and it would not be all that bad to carry and shoot.

not for a right handed pistol shooter!
All proper gentlemen lower the pistol between each shot, and rack the bolt, in echo's of our bolt action rifle using forebearers.

Or just hold onto the grippy bit in front of the magazine with our left hand, and rack the slide. Either one. :p

Needs a longer barrel, at least 16". Looks like a tang safety, IMHO, not real handy for that setup! For a handgun hunter that picatinny rail on the rear is kind of in the way and would probably get cut off! Would be nice if they had it made so it could of been removable! All in all. Looks like another set up where they did not ask actual handgun hunter about their opinions, and made what they thought they needed!

Now, if they were going for the braced pistol with a can crowd, would they have kept the left bolt?

NC did away with the loaded rifle on all gamelands stuff.

Bad news, on some gamelands it still applies.

Gamelands in NC are largely private, corporate, property. So the land owner can set some of the regs. It's a minefield.

But other states have some crazy laws. From not being loaded in the vehicle to not being loaded leaning on the vehicle.
