What do you look for when you buy one? What makes a one brand different from another? Does nickle boron do anything other than look pretty? What's the best bang for your buck? I guess school me on why you chose what you have. There are a ton of different ones on the market right now and I really don't know the difference. All the ones I have had either came with the rifles I bought or the ones I was issued.

I shoot a lot of suppressed 5.56, and the nickel boron coating makes cleaning the excess fouling a lot easier than a regular phosphate BCG. So does a nitride or melonite finish.

I make sure to get a regular M16 carrier (not the AR15 cutout version) and that they have INDIVIDUALLY been MPI/HPT'd, not batch tested.

Beyond that, the material is up to you. 8620 or 9310 steel for the carrier, C158 for the bolt....just sorta up to you.

Exactly, no MPI/HPT, skip it
