Boots on the Ground...July 8th....More evidence the medical system is having major problems

We've long been a regualr follower of Dave's (southernprepper1). He doesn't live too far from us. I used to see him regularly at prep-cons.

His Boots on the Ground reminds me of the Daily Open Source Infrastructure Report, that I used to subscribe to. It was put out by DHS and listed selected daily news articles that pertained to the electric grid, water, transportation, etc. It was a good snapshot of what was going on around the country and if you paid attention, you could see patterns. They discontinued it a few years back. I miss it.

It may be time to start a new group and make more like minded friends. Maybe join Dave's group. I'd invite you to my meeting but you would have to come to Philly regularly and that may not be healthy nowadays...lol

I've been part of the preparedness community for years. Dave's real group is local to him. But, his followers span the nation.

Dave describes 3 "rings" of association...

The first ring is the broadest, containing people with similar interest, like those you would meet at a prepcon or here.

The second ring is more geographical, like those in a community. You might meet periodically, have social events, training, etc.

The third ring is the huddle group. These are people you trust implicitly. These are people you share scarce resources with, including defensive shelter.

Categorizing the groups helps thinking about the relationships.

Thanks for the invite, but Philly? Uh...II'll have to pass. 😉

A note on medical system issues. Was at the Dr yesterday and learned they’re experiencing shortages of lidocaine. At first it was the injection kind and now topical. Guess I received one of the two tubes they had left before a wound care procedure.

That's the result of dependence on a single supply source, especially overseaes

Just spent two four hour stints Sat and Sun sitting with and helping my 86 yr old mother at Hi Pt Regional now part of Wake Forest Baptist Health, previously UNC Health. The last place you want to be is in the hospital, especially that one. It has always sucked. I dont know for sure but feel there must be a private hospital in the area because people with money would not put up with the conditions there nor the care there. And the family reunions and picnics that used to be in the lobby before Covid are now in the parking deck. My advice, don't get sick or old.
