Ego brand. These yard tools are. the. bomb.
That is assuming you’re not maintaining the Clampett mansion, or a golf course. I am so impressed with these products.

So, now I want an electric truck whenever they figure out charging infrastructure and charging times.

But worst of all, I think I want an electric motorcycle. That is, if they’ll make one that someone my size and age can actually articulate their limbs to fit on/in/around.

As someone who has a lifelong love of all things combustion related... i.e firearms, fireworks, fireplace, and of course, internal combustion, I never saw this coming.

I’d keep the fat pig for long rides, and still love the sound, but I’d love a silent cruiser for back country rides at dusk when I have the roads through the woods and tobacco fields to myself, and don’t need the bike to do anything but fit me, and get me back home.

(and I’m not paying $30k for the HD offering either)

I think a mid size electric motorcycle would be great. I grew up riding bikes, mostly Japanese models, up to 1000cc or so. They were smooth ,quiet and responsive. Perfect for cruising the back roads. They have really changed over the years. They are either a beast or a rocket ship it seems. I still have my liscense but have not had a bike in twenty years. There are too many distracted drivers on the main roads now.

I am looking for pole saw and am thinking electric also. Does anyone have experience with those. Certain brands? I think electric in these smaller tools is the future and is really already here. We just don't realize it yet for many of us.

we are waiting as well.
our battery powered drill, screwdriver, string trimmer, and pole-saw
have performed better than expected. a chain saw will be next.
of course, when feasible, an EV is in our future.

regarding pole-saws: we have a standard B&D.
it was actually a scratch-and-dent from Lowe's
for $35 with two batteries. that price was the
only way we would have bought it.

I’ve owned and run Stihl chainsaws, string trimmers, back back blowers, hand held blowers, and a Snapper mower. The Ego battery powered products for my sub-suburban needs are way more than adequate

They are Chinese owned and it is the same company that makes Skil products now. I've got a ton of electric stuff and I love it. The less time spent on winterizing motors the better.

Picked up a milwaukee m18 hedge trimmer a while back and that thing is great and much nicer than draging a drop cord around. Plenty of power and you can make one big mess to clean up before the 5 ah battery dies much less a 8 ah on it. Still run gas chainsaws because they get used hard for long periods but for lower use items battery is not a bad way to go anymore.

Garage is full of Stihl orange gas equipment. If I started buying today it would all be battery except the riding mower.

Ego even makes a zero turn battery powered rider, but you have to sell a couple of the kids to pay for it.

I talked to a landscape company using one. I posted a picture on the forum two years ago. Over $20,000.
The consumer model will mow 2 acres on one charge. $5,000

What ever you get make sure they'll use the same battery . No down time waiting to recharge. Also check warranty on tool and battery.
I got all lowes kolbalt 40 volt. And warranty is 5 year tool and 3 year on battery. They do make a 80 volt tool also..

Electric weedeater and blower. I'll get more stuff over time, but for my use, these ryobi tools are great and inexpensive.
Pop a battery in and go. No messing with gas mixtures and chokes or spark plugs etc.
Just pull a trigger or flip a switch.

One of my neighbors has one. So quiet I can't even tell he's mowing.
How sad....

Personally, that sounds great - you could get up early one morning and knock your mowing out before it gets too hot without disturbing your neighbors. I dont see a downside.
No having to wear earmuffs the whole time (not that they are a big issue, but still).
Just get on and go.

When the time comes to replace our mower it will be an electric walk self propelled.

Similar on small tools - 40v electric chainsaw is super convenient for small stuff. They are a long way from replacing the big orange ones for real work, but for walking around trimming little stuff it is hard to beat.

As soon as my Honda mower I bought used dies, I am going all in for electric. Might be able to get my wife to help me with the yard at that point.

I got to demo a HD LiveWire. Pretty cool expierence, but not the 27k price tag.
Yea, and the 150 mile range. No bueno for close to $30K right now.

I'll tell you what it was pretty fun. With the right bounce I think it could easily pop the front wheel too!
When I started the thread I was serious about the idea of an electric bike, but the range is just too short for me. You can buy a lot of internal combustion motorcycle for the scratch they are asking on the LiveWire.

"I’d love a silent cruiser for back country rides at dusk "

That would be a Gold Wing.

.
Not looking another touring bike with fairing. I’m thinking a nekkid cruiser of some flavor.
