Found this online and it really explains why I love Knob Creek...grew up drinking WT for the alcohol content and bourbon just became my fave way before it was cool and trendy. Now with more choices than ever this explains what may be marketing vs preference.

Of course KC is aged 9 years, 5 years more than Straight Bourbon like Beam or Turkey...but the flavor profile is similar because the recipe is similar

Great info. Another big part of the the bourbon industry is who is doing the mash. There are really only 5-6 true distillers.

Yes and I would say Heaven Hill puts out some of the most affordable and drinkable Bourbon out there. There's a reason why a $50 McKenna SB is being scooped up and sold for $140-150 a bottle every time it hits the shelf.

That is interesting. I am not a rye fan and it explains why I prefer Jack and Dickel over Four Roses and Old Grandad. It also explains why I always found Makers to be bland, with so much wheat in the recipe.

Is it a problem that I download the NC ABC Board quarterly price list and consider it good reading?
