Bronco picture leak

HA! I'll have some of what you're smoking if you thought Ford would actually build a car like that.

Seems like nobody is interested in making your dream truck.

Well in all fairness, I did say that was what I "wanted" to see not what I expected to see.

I know exactly what kind of garbage to expect lol.

What happened to this one??

I want to see the interior. Ford interiors are disappointing to say the least. I like simple, functional, and comfortable. In a truck that won't see top off (rain, mud) conditions that means a single infotainment/nav screen built into the dash that has a freaking knob to control it. No touch screens. Knobs for heat/cool with soft tactile clicks as they rotate. No chrome or gloss black on the interior bits to reflect sunlight, and only use soft touch plastics. Heated cooled seats from pleather. The fake stuff in german cars is awesome these days.

As far as the power train goes I think a turbo six would give the V8 power people crave without all the stopping at the gas station it would otherwise cause. I have a 2 liter turbo car now that's coupled with a 7 speed trans and that thing hauls ass. In a heavier truck the six should do nicely.

Turbos are great for blasting down the highway but on the trail I want low end torque. That said a big NA six would probably do if geared and tuned for the task, but they should definitely offer a V8. Perception is important.

When turbos are added to an engine they have to lower the compression ratio to keep them from grenading once it kicks in, so often the turbo version will have less power than the NA version at low rpm.

I think modern transmissions will overcome this concept. When you can have as many gears as you want and they're controlled by a computer you can make up for an anemic spot low in the rev range. Compound this with a super low range crawl gear in the transfer case and you can have "both" an efficient HWY cruiser that's tits on pavement and a burly offroad truck that can pull and crawl equally well.

For a given rpm (low) at a given speed (low) the transmission can't really change anything, even if it's a CVT. What you're probably saying is you (or the transmission if an auto) could simply lower the gear until the engine was at high enough rpm for the turbo to spin up, but I think you would lose some finesse/control over just having an engine that can deliver high torque at basically any rpm. I could be wrong.

On my car with a 4 banger idle is about 900 rpm. Boost hits at 1500 rpm. You don't have to rev very much to get power. The power band on my car runs from 1500-4500. It gets anemic after that, but it has 7 gears to keep it in the power band all the time.
My thinking is an "off road" button would load a program that would utilize a low gear that might not be useful on the road and spin the engine up into it's power band for immediate power. Mercedes is offering a 9 or 10 speed transmission these days. It's amazing what having all the gears available can do for performance and efficiency.

I have often wondered if there is a single production car of my time 90's to present that would even come close to being a cool barn find. The only one I can think of would be a firebird maybe. I always like this one but I haven't seen a great shape one in years and it's probably only me that liked it.

I figure the Plymouth Prowler would be a good one.

Ford is making two versions of the broncos a small one and a big one. Where I work we have been making parts for them. The blue one in the picture is supposed to be the baby bronco and the white one is the full sized one.
Are you guys making after market parts already or making parts going into the vehicles coming off the line?

Those definitely look better.
They look like a Jeep Wrangler! I kinda like the top one. I’m looking for a replacement for the wife’s Explorer and she wants something a little smaller but not as small as the Escape and I dont like an Edge. I’d considered a Land Rover but they have a terrible reputation! I had a friend who had one and it was ALWAYS in the shop. They were upside down in it and couldn’t get rid of it. Maybe something for her to look at. The only time I drive the Explorer is in the summertime and we go on a short trip. We normally take my truck in the winter or a long trip. More comfortable, all my gear fits in it and 4x4. All my gear fitting in it is a must!

I missed a 68 Bronco and a 70 F100 short bed from a family friend my wife grew up with. Both one owners and under 20k miles each. Had been sitting for years in a barn in Michigan. Dad was a Ford employee and also had a cool 55 Mercury. Parents died and the daughter ended up selling a couple years ago. I told her for years I would come up and buy them anytime she was ready. It was rough finding out she sold them to her boss. It was really rough finding out how much she sold them for.
I had an uncle who hade 2 restored M-38 Jeeps. One was still in pieces but all there and most of the pieces were new! Frame, body, fenders were all new and the engine, transfer case and differentials were all rebuilt. The other was running but he’d pulled the motor to fix a leak before he died. I’d helped him as a kid to work on them. I told his step son that if nobody wanted them, I’d like to buy them. He told me that my cousin was getting them. Well, apparently not. He sold them BOTH for $2000!!! Talk about pissed! Guy was a collector and I bet he was smiling all the way home!

I found one for you! But it’s red.

Yes, there will be many.
Heck, I think we're seeing it already
Speaking of Japanese cars, the market is (was? lol) booming on the sports cars. We're seeing things like Supras and RX7 going for over 50k, the MR2, like what I just got, are going for 10k+ all day long unless you find one that needs a little work (mine, for example, needs paint bad, no rust though!)

So we're seeing these 25+ year old cars going for quite a bit, as the folks who were 16 when they came out are now getting to the age and economic stature that they can actually afford one of them. Pretty cool.
It'll keep going with various vehicles in the 90s.

But my prediction:
-RX7
-Supra
-300ZX (90-95)
-MR2
-S14 240SX (in stock/good condition), I dont remember exact years of these, but, again, mid 90s
-Integra Type R (they're going for more than the original MSRP)
-heck, even non-modified, low mile Hondas are going for quite a bit

well, i do wonder who is the target demographic.
The All mighty selling Jeep Brand. Nobody has anything to compare. Just count how many Jeeps you see today. Considering the rate of manufacture the are everywhere. At least here. I see where for the first time in 10 years Jeep has incentives in place. Certainly a sign of slow vehicle sales.

My 2018 Mazda 6 GT-R puts out 310 ft/lbs with an impressive power curve out of a 2.5L turbo engine. It’s all about the spool and tune (which mine is still stock since no one wants to touch the tune in that car).

Honda Del Sol might qualify.
