Federal flight control 9 pellet 2.75” shell out of Benelli fixed cylinder riot bbl. I called the shot at 9:00 so it’s not far off center with bbl mounted iron sights.

25 yards - 2 flyers 8-10” low not shown

The flight control wad ammo is the real deal.
Decent results out to 50 yd even with cheapo 870 Express.

Yeah I love the Federal flight control buckshot. However, it’s more like a slug under 15 yards.

Federal flite control and the Hornady versa-tite was are both super legit! Just so doggone expensive and often hard to find.

Just ordered some more form Cabelas - not cheap but never want to run out.
Seemed they had in stock . . . they accepted my order. Got some TruBall slugs as well, at least those were a couple bucks off.

Nevermind. I see the issue. It's a short barrel open choke.

Solid work at 75’. I’ve not found anything that patterns as tight as Federal FC.

Surprisingly, though, based on some range work I did with a plain vanilla Mossberg 500 (18.5 Cyl), some Estate 00 I picked up at Academy was second only to the Federal FC I tested.

I was curious. I was assuming tighter choke and thought the spread was rather too large for hunting out to 50 yards. But given the range, short barrel and open choke, target size, the pattern looks good for defensive use.
