Watching Austin City Limits tonight featuring legendary Blues axe man Buddy Guy.

George "Buddy" Guy (born July 30, 1936)[2] is an American blues guitarist and singer. He is an exponent of Chicago blues and has influenced eminent guitarists including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck and John Mayer. In the 1960s, Guy played with Muddy Waters as a house guitarist at Chess Records and began a musical partnership with the harmonica player Junior Wells.

83 freakin years old and still cuttin' heads.
I saw Buddy Guy in 2003 and it left such an impression it's like it was yesterday.

I saw him at Walnut Creek some years ago and he was great. Terribly underrated and underappreciated. Wish I had know this was on. Will have to look for it on line.

Seeing BG was on my bucket list and we got to see him at a great little amphitheater in Wilmington last year. He’s a great showman, didn’t play much of his bluesier music, and spent most of his time repeatedly strumming the highest note power chord he could.
BG’s also got a fixation for the ‘F’ word like a rebellious 12 year old that just discovered it. My wife wasn’t happy camper. It was disappointing.
His concerts on line are better, I’ll be there if he’s with Johnny Lang or TTB!

Saw him here in Charlotte about five years ago at the Knight Theater. He was decent at playing, but jeez, dude is on up in the years. The show as a whole was pretty good. The guy he had playing with him on the other guitar was very good, so that made up for the mediocre playing. I would go see him again.

There used to be a little bar down by the Board of Trade in KC MO. Some dude who was a big guy with Alligator Records owned it, and Buddy Guy would show up there all the time and jam with the venue players. One time, Guy came out and started jamming, and then about 10 minutes later, Clapton joined them. The fire marshall had to come and shut the place down, too many people packed in.

Buddy Guy is as good as they come.
