CA man and daughter had 66k rounds ammo and rifles in home.

State Department of Justice Bureau of Firearms investigators who raided the Ponder home were looking for four illegal firearms that Ponder had registered, the attorney general said.

A convicted felon who cannot legally possess a firearm was caught because he registered four illegal firearms????

"If someone has this kind of firepower and they are going through great pains to make sure that it isn't traceable, it is for ill-gotten gains," said L.A. County District Attorney Jackie Lacey, who announced the charges against the Ponders.

One third the people on this site have that firepower. But theirs is traceable.

The announcement of the arrest of the Ponders comes about two weeks after L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer revealed the raid of the home of a North Hollywood man, Mark Morman, in a search of two illegal weapons. Investigators found 25 illegal weapons, 2,000 rounds of ammunition and 44 magazines at Morman's home.

Watch out for the Mormans. :D

I assume what they meant to say was that he had purchased 4 weapons legally before he was convicted of his felony in 2001 and then once the state ran that "new" data base they have that cross-references felonies with gun ownership/serial numbers they went looking for the aforementioned 4 weapons and found everything else.

"Ponder's home was raided after he appeared in a unique state database – the Armed Prohibited Persons System, or APPS – that cross-references criminal and restraining order records with gun registration records."

But I'm sure I can't be correct because "gun registration records" don't exist, right ?

Tracer rounds are common deer ammunition. Upon impact the round is not visable and thus the HARVEST has been verified.

"Ghost Gun" along with "Assault Rifle" and "the thing on the top that goes up" are the modern day equivalent of "Saturday Night Special".
They should call it an "unserialized firearm" because that is exactly what it is and the BATF&E have no problem with it unless you were sell it that way.

66,000 sounds like a good start to me. Goals and dreams are good right?
Seems exaggerated to me. I'd be happy with half that much.

:D

Looks like there was a .50cal in the pic that wasn't mentioned.

I knew someone that had to re-enforce his floors and registered with the local FD.

I fail to see the crime here

Counterfeiting money?

"Ponder is banned from owning a gun because of his previous 2001 felony convictions for possession of a machine gun and counterfeiting money, Becerra said at a news conference in downtown L.A."

Counterfeiting money?
Setting aside the issues of how counterfeiting is almost silly given the way Uncle Sugar, though the cabal called the Federal Reserve, has effectively devalued and continually manipulates a fiat, one could just about argue counterfeit, currency ....

We're still left with the notion of exactly how is this something that should be grounds to deny someone basic tools of self defense.

Sorry just because the illegitimate "government" calls soneone a "fellon" isn't good enough anymore in my book.

A 2001 conviction...it's now 2018. Has he paid his debt to society? Then there is no reason to deny the man his rights.

And the machine gun charge is BS--shall not be infringed

Father and daughter...
images

Got this off the web, but the father looks familiar, like an image from another story.

I think that looks like the man who shot the girl in San Francisco and was illegal.
And that's "the girl" he shot. Kate Steinle.
